About The Experience

This hilltop villa in the Tuscan countryside is located near the charming village of Monteriggioni and offers close proximity to Siena, San Gimignano, and Florence as well as the Chianti Classico. With panoramic views, a private pool, and a peaceful atmosphere, a family or group of friends is sure to enjoy a relaxing stay at this vacation rental.

Location Description

The property is located two kilometers from Staggia, where there are general stores, and three kilometers from a train station in Castellina Scalo (a small line). Six kilometers away is Monteriggioni, a medieval village with shops, restaurants, and markets. The main piazza features a Romanesque church while streets leading to it are bordered by gardens and Renaissance-style houses. The Festa Medievale is held in July and in which people dress up in medieval costumes, listen to music, and put on live shows. A great day trip destination is Siena. This picturesque city is a wonderfully preserved example of the Tuscan Middle Ages, and a treasure trove of gothic palaces, churches, and museums. It's also well known for its bi-annual bareback horse races, the Palio, held once in July and once in August. You’ll also find good restaurants, fun shops, and beautiful architecture!

Nearby Attractions: Staggio (general stores), Castellino Scalo (small train station – secondary line), Monteriggioni (shops, restaurants, cafes, Roman church, gardens, views of the countryside), Siena (Il Duomo, train station), San Gimignano (towers, 12th century Duomo, People’s Palace, museums, art galleries, restaurants, festivals), Florence (museums, shops, restaurants, Uffizi Gallery, Ponte Vecchio).

Absolutely wonderful. The owner Tomaso greeted us when we arrived and had some basic provisions for us and explained everything very well to us! He was there immediately to sort any problems. The villa was amazing and so close to everything, shops train station other small town wineries. It was wonderful. We celebrated my 60th birthday there with family and friends and it was everything I had dreamed of. I would recommend this villa to anyone. It might seem expensive but everything is 5 star and so worth it!

Surrounding Area:
You are right in the middle of the beautiful Chianti region and very close to everything!
Nearby Events or Locales:
Staggia is very close but as the villa is on top of a hill I wouldn't recommend driving. We had a rental car which made everything easy!
Tips or Restaurants:
A rental car makes it easy to get everywhere. Just immerse yourself in the region and enjoy!
We used Google maps to get there and found it very easy.
Check In Out:
No. Tomaso the owner was wonderful!

Everything was fine.
Enjoyed Most:
The views and quiet surroundings were pretty awesome.
Enjoyed Least:
The kitchen was small and the freezer froze up the first day we were there but the caretaker told us that he couldn't do a thing. It added to our electricity bill. Gas and electricity were extra costs and were due when we departed.
Surrounding Area:
Middle of many places to see.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Nothing within walking distance, but not far from town.
