The property is located two kilometers from Staggia, where there are general stores, and three kilometers from a train station in Castellina Scalo (a small line). Six kilometers away is Monteriggioni, a medieval village with shops, restaurants, and markets. The main piazza features a Romanesque church while streets leading to it are bordered by gardens and Renaissance-style houses. The Festa Medievale is held in July and in which people dress up in medieval costumes, listen to music, and put on live shows. A great day trip destination is Siena. This picturesque city is a wonderfully preserved example of the Tuscan Middle Ages, and a treasure trove of gothic palaces, churches, and museums. It's also well known for its bi-annual bareback horse races, the Palio, held once in July and once in August. You’ll also find good restaurants, fun shops, and beautiful architecture!
