About The Experience
This beautiful two bedroom apartment in Praiano adds a little Greek flavor to your Italian holiday. Pure white walls accented with blue furnishings and decorations welcome two couples or a small family to relax and enjoy the spacious home and the even more spectacular views. With two terraces, one with an attractive garden and the other with a private pool, you will have a hard time leaving your home to explore the coast. Walk down to the sea or visit the nearby towns of Positano, Sorrento and Amalfi.
Location Description

This apartment is situated below the main street of Praiano, a small fishing village made up of houses scattered along the ridge of Monte S. Angelo down to the Mediterranean Sea. A small well-stocked supermarket is a short distance from the villa and about 400 meters away you will find coffee bars with internet facilities, a tourist information center, restaurants, a post office, shopping, and more! Visit Marina di Praia, a small and charming pebble beach surrounded by the houses and boats of local fishermen. It is dotted with small, authentic restaurants not to be missed by any seafood lover. If you do not have a problem with climbing steps, visit the small, delightful beach of “Gavitella”, located at the bottom of a small rocky inlet. The beach houses a restaurant with beach facilities, open during the summer season. La Gavitella can be reached either on foot, walking along a path that includes about 350 steps, or by sea using the local ferry service! The SITA bus stop, the long distance bus that goes to Amalfi and Sorrento, and the local bus stop, the shuttle bus that goes from Praiano to Positano, are situated at the beginning of the steps leading down to this apartment.

Please Note: While the Amalfi Coast is beautiful and charming, it is also steep, with many uphill and downhill stairs and walkways. In general, it is an area that is not kind to those of us with knee or mobility issues. This should be considered before booking a property in this area.

Nearby Attractions: In Praiano, a town characterized by its expansive views on the sea and its fishermen who dot the marina and bring fresh seafood to the authentic restaurants, you can enjoy numerous historical, architectural and naturalistic attractions. Its beach, La Cala of Gavitella, is the only beach on the Amalfi Coast illuminated until sunset at which time, be sure to join the locals at nearby wine bars such as Vivaro or Le Fioriere Cocktail and Wine Bar. Surrounding Praiano are several vineyards and a hiking trail, Sul Sentiero degli Dei, which stretches to Positano! In Positano, the main square Piazza dei Mulini offers restaurants and shops or head to one of the beaches such as Spiaggia del Fornillo.

Customer Reviews

Overall:
We had a wonderful stay
Enjoyed Most:
Location and views
Enjoyed Least:
We had problems with the hot water pressure in the bathrooms.
Surrounding Area:
There were many great restaurants within walking distance. It was in Praiano so it was not as crowded.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The Villa is in Praiano - about 200 steps down from the main road. If you have difficulty walking it would not be a good location for you. That said you feel less guilty going out for dinner when you have to walk up the stairs to go to the restaurant.
Tips or Restaurants:
All of the local restaurants were very good - we enjoyed them all.
Directions:
We hired a driver to drive us from Rome to Praiano (with a 3 hour stop over in Pompeii). This worked out really well for us. It meant we didn't have any hassles driving on unfamiliar roads and trying to find parking (which is very difficult). Once we were in Praiano we hired a taxi to drive us one day to the beginning of the Path of the Gods and another day to Ravello and Amalfi.
Check In Out:
Checking in and out was quite easy

Overall:
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and loved spending time outside admiring the ever changing view of the sea and the mountains. The villa came equipped with everything we needed. Praiano offered options for eating out and the grocery store provided the necessities for making our own breakfast and sometimes lunch. It was a wonderful experience and is one I would recommend freely.
Enjoyed Most:
The outdoor areas. Lots of options for relaxing and taking in the scenery.
Enjoyed Least:
The stairs were a bit tiring at times, especially after a day out and about hiking. There didn't seem to be much hot water for the bathrooms although it was no problem in the kitchen.
Surrounding Area:
We loved that Praiano was a relatively quiet village compared to busy Positano and Amalfi. We enjoyed visiting the other places but were glad to come "home" to our villa. We enjoyed our day trip to Capri and a visit to Ravello and also walking the path of the gods.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Praiano was only 201 stairs up from us so yes it was within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
Reward yourself after hiking the Path of the Gods with an amazing lunch at La Tagliata restaurant in Montepertuso, Positano. It is well worth the additional kilometre walk at the end of the hike. There is no menu, they just keep bringing out delicious food! Empty stomach and reservations recommended. After eating here you will have the energy required to make it all the way down to Positano.
Directions:
No we did not need to use GPS, just google maps to get us to the meeting point.
Check In Out:
The Check inCheck out process was seamless and simple.

Overall:
Awesome, the villa was in fantastic shape. The views were spectacular.
Enjoyed Most:
Everything
Enjoyed Least:
200 steps to the street, lol. But it was worth it.
Surrounding Area:
Everything, great food. The people were very nice.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Praiano, yes.
Directions:
It was a little tricky to find. Yes, we used a GPS from our phone. Once we got settled it wasn't a problem. The best way to find it was to use the Church as a point of contact.
Check In Out:
Filomena was fantastic. The guys that helped with the bags were great also.
