About The Experience
Situated in the heart of Positano this quintessential Mediterranean villa is nestled in the steep hillsides and has panoramic sea views. With nearly every room opening onto the panoramic terrace, this rental is perfect for guests to wine, dine, and unwind alfresco. The villa also has direct access to the pedestrian walkway on one side. Because of its optimum local, you are within walking distance of all Positano has to offer; cafes, markets, restaurants, colorful ceramic shops—and of course the beautiful sandy beaches!
Location Description

“Positano bites deep” John Steinbeck wrote, referring to the dream-like quality the town possesses. The charming pastel residences sit along narrow, winding roads on steep hillsides overlooking the Mediterranean. From the apartment you are just a 10 minute walk from the center of town and 15 from the nearest beach. The beach Spiaggia Grande has been described as one of the most beautiful beaches along the coast but, for more peace and privacy, seek out Fornillo beach; accessed along a coastal path via Spiaggia Grande. If time permits, hire one of the town’s “sea taxis”; small boats which transport visitors to secluded bays only accessible by boat. Wander in to the many colorful boutiques or quaint cafés. Be sure to try some of the town’s very popular Limoncello!

Please Note: While the Amalfi Coast is beautiful and charming, it is also steep, with many uphill and downhill stairs and walkways. In general, it is an area that is not kind to those of us with knee or mobility issues. This should be considered before booking a property in this area.

Nearby Attractions: There are bus stops in town that can take you up and down to other beautiful towns along the coast, including Amalfi. Amalfi is a town that dates back to the 6th century, with historical and medieval architecture throughout. The main sites include the Duomo, in Amalfi's center, the cathedral of Sant' Andrea, which dates back to the 11th century, and the Cloister of Paradise. There is also a museum dedicated to the works of Morelli and a museum where you can view artifacts of Amalfi's long and interesting history. During the summer months, there are daily ferries leaving from Positano to Capri, Sorrento, and Naples.

Customer Reviews

Overall:
Absolutely the best! We were greeted at the property, given a tour, and a cell phone number in case there were any problems.
Enjoyed Most:
The view. It was amazing. The weather was bad a few days so we sat comfortably on the terrace and enjoyed the view and the peace/quiet.
Enjoyed Least:
The beds were a bit firm.
Surrounding Area:
The village of Positano is a jewel on the Amalfi Coast. People travel for thousands of miles to visit for a few hours. We were able to stay for a week in a beautiful villa and relax.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Positano. This villa is in Positano but outside the main tourist area. It is a short walk and is worth it to have the peace and quiet where we were.
Tips or Restaurants:
There are SO many great restaurants. Da Vincenzo's had the most amazing Buffalo Cheesecake. There is a pastry shop and a small grocery store 250 feet to the west, 600 feet to the east is a much larger grocery store across from the Poseidon. The larger store has food which you can take back to the villa. There is a fish market up the hill and a few hundred feet west on SS 163. Loads of stores in the center of town for all sorts of souvenir shopping.
Directions:
GPS worked great. I also used Google Earth and Street View to see where we would be driving. We rented a car from Europcar at the Naples train station. Very easy to get around.
Check In Out:
No. It was very easy.

Overall:
We had a magnificent time at Villa Perla. I loved that I had flowers to water and tend everyday as I love gardening.
Enjoyed Most:
I loved sleeping with the doors open and the first thing I saw in the morning, before getting out of bed, was the water. We also loved the veranda that ran the length of the living space. We ate our meals out and lived out there. We didn't use the living room or dining room. The overhang on the veranda allowed us to be out there when there was a light rain.
Enjoyed Least:
Parking - even though we had a garage, the parking was tricky. It would be helpful if the instructions for the washer were translated into English.
Surrounding Area:
We enjoyed the location and access to shops, food, views, and the other towns were about an hour away via car.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Villa Perla is right in Positano.
Tips or Restaurants:
We went to Le Sirenuse one evening for dinner. It's pricey but what an experience We also had drinks at their patio bar earlier in the week. The patio opens at 5:00 and I suggest getting there around 4:30 to wait in line if you want a view overlooking the town. They only serve drinks at this patio bar but it is well worth the time. We cooked in two evenings at it was wonderful. My husband and I both love to cook so we basically had an interactive cooking class with the adult children that were traveling with us.
Directions:
We used Google maps. We travelers were both Verizon and ATT customers. We had the option of activating our phones everyday for a $10 fee. We highly recommend this. The property manager, Andrea, made it easy for us as he met us at a restaurant close to the villa.
Check In Out:
No - it was quick.

Overall:
Fabulous. The patio obviously makes it very special because of the view!!
Enjoyed Most:
Waking up to that scenery every morning!!
Enjoyed Least:
The garage entry is really difficult to maneuver. The steps at first were daunting, but became easier as we got used to the climb.
Surrounding Area:
Yes. Positano is lovely but we traveled to Sorrento, Ravello, Pompei, Amalfi, Capri...
Nearby Events or Locales:
There's so much to see just in Positano.
Tips or Restaurants:
Every restaurant is excellent!! Breakfast can be difficult if you're not in the mood to get up and go first thing in the morning.
Check In Out:
Andrea is very accessible!!
