About The Experience
Situated in the heart of Positano this quintessential Mediterranean villa is nestled in the steep hillsides and has panoramic sea views. With nearly every room opening onto the panoramic terrace, this rental is perfect for guests to wine, dine, and unwind alfresco. The villa also has direct access to the pedestrian walkway on one side. Because of its optimum local, you are within walking distance of all Positano has to offer; cafes, markets, restaurants, colorful ceramic shops—and of course the beautiful sandy beaches!
Location Description

“Positano bites deep” John Steinbeck wrote, referring to the dream-like quality the town possesses. The charming pastel residences sit along narrow, winding roads on steep hillsides overlooking the Mediterranean. From the apartment you are just a 10 minute walk from the center of town and 15 from the nearest beach. The beach Spiaggia Grande has been described as one of the most beautiful beaches along the coast but, for more peace and privacy, seek out Fornillo beach; accessed along a coastal path via Spiaggia Grande. If time permits, hire one of the town’s “sea taxis”; small boats which transport visitors to secluded bays only accessible by boat. Wander in to the many colorful boutiques or quaint cafés. Be sure to try some of the town’s very popular Limoncello!

Please Note: While the Amalfi Coast is beautiful and charming, it is also steep, with many uphill and downhill stairs and walkways. In general, it is an area that is not kind to those of us with knee or mobility issues. This should be considered before booking a property in this area.

Nearby Attractions: There are bus stops in town that can take you up and down to other beautiful towns along the coast, including Amalfi. Amalfi is a town that dates back to the 6th century, with historical and medieval architecture throughout. The main sites include the Duomo, in Amalfi's center, the cathedral of Sant' Andrea, which dates back to the 11th century, and the Cloister of Paradise. There is also a museum dedicated to the works of Morelli and a museum where you can view artifacts of Amalfi's long and interesting history. During the summer months, there are daily ferries leaving from Positano to Capri, Sorrento, and Naples.

Customer Reviews

It was exactly as promised in your reviews. In other words, it was perfect.
Enjoyed Most:
The view.
Enjoyed Least:
The stairs. The street for the property is a long flight of stairs; all of Positano is stairs and a few streets are very steep. But we walked down to the beach every day and we are better people for it.
Surrounding Area:
Positano is one of the most magical towns in the world. The reason it is so beautiful is because it is built into the side of a mountain, hence the stairs.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The villa is right in Positano. There are good restaurants everywhere and many of them have fabulous views. Fish of course, is the specialty. There are tons of shops and I found the gorgeous linen shirts and dresses were very reasonable.
Tips or Restaurants:
No, everything was provided. And by the way, the beds and pillows were very comfortable. They could've provided an extra set of towels, but there is a washing machine and things dry quickly in the sun. There is a little Italian coffee pot and a Mr. Coffee coffee pot.
The villa did not show up on our GPS because remember the street is the staircase. We had a driver who called Andrea, the owner of the house, who gave excellent directions. Easiest to be dropped off at the top of the stairs when you come, and at the bottom of the stairs when you leave.
Check In Out:
Check in and check out were a breeze. Andrea was very helpful.

Villa Perla was a lovely stay. Wonderful views, centrally located between downtown Positano, the local beach, and the large tourist beach.
Enjoyed Most:
Relaxing on the covered patio.
Enjoyed Least:
The quirky A/C-fan-heating units. The one in my room, the one with twin beds, worked fine, but the ones in the living area were tricky to operate.
Surrounding Area:
The beauty of the ocean, proximity to buses leaving town and food shopping.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Went to Sorrento by private car and Amalfi by public bus. Would be quite an effort walking to neighboring towns with the lack of sidewalks, narrow roads, and the hilly terrain.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bought groceries, snacks, espresso up the hill in downtown Positano- less expensive as it's further removed from the tourist-dense area.
No suggestions as our group used private drivers arriving to and leaving the property.
Check In Out:
Seemed smooth to me although my friend was the one "in charge" of the reservation.

It was a nice experience.
Enjoyed Most:
The view and spaciousness.
Enjoyed Least:
Climbing stairs to get there. When we first arrived we didn't know how to operate the air conditioner and we ran out of propane on the last day. The owner assisted with both issues.
Surrounding Area:
It was nice to be in the center of town.
Tips or Restaurants:
Have owner thoroughly explain how to use the air conditioner. Ask also what to do if propane runs out.
Directions were given to our driver and he figured it out.
