About The Experience
Sit back and relax beneath the bougainvillea and vine-covered terrace while taking in the stunning coastal views this villa has to offer. Nestled in Positano’s steep cliffs, this gorgeous retreat is perfect for a few friends looking to experience the allure of one of the coasts’ most charming outposts. There are beautiful flowering plants and citrus trees along the exterior and terrace and guests also have access to a small vegetable garden. From the villa you also have access via 150 steps (exercise!) to Fornillo beach.
Location Description

“Positano bites deep” John Steinbeck wrote, referring to the dream-like quality the town possesses. The charming pastel residences sit along narrow, winding roads on steep hillsides overlooking the Mediterranean. From the apartment you are just a 10 minute walk from the center of town and 15 from the nearest beach. The beach Spiaggia Grande has been described as one of the most beautiful beaches along the coast but, for more peace and privacy, seek out Fornillo beach; accessed along a coastal path via Spiaggia Grande. If time permits, hire one of the town’s “sea taxis”; small boats which transport visitors to secluded bays only accessible by boat. Wander in to the many colorful boutiques or quaint cafés, and dine at one of the many restaurants.

Please Note: While the Amalfi Coast is beautiful and charming, it is also steep, with many uphill and downhill stairs and walkways. In general, it is an area that is not kind to those of us with knee or mobility issues. This should be considered before booking a property in this area.

Nearby Attractions: Visit nearby Sorrento, which is famous for its limoncello (an alcoholic aperitif) and inlaid wood – you can visit one of the workshops still in operation today to see this centuries-old craft in action. Visit Sorrento’s 10th century Basilica di San Antonio, which was built to honor the patron saint of navigators and still attracts sailors’ offerings to this day. The "Sorrento Summer of Music" is also held at the cloisters from July to September, and features international musicians performing alongside emerging talents. Amalfi is also nearby and dates back to the 6th century, with historical and medieval architecture throughout. The main sites include the Duomo, in Amalfi's center, the cathedral of Sant' Andrea, which dates back to the 11th century, and the Cloister of Paradise. There is also a museum dedicated to the works of Morelli and a museum where you can view artifacts of Amalfi's long and interesting history. During the summer months, there are daily ferries leaving from Positano to Capri, Sorrento, and Naples.

All 5 of us had a great week in Villa Rina, the view over the bay was spectacular, the outdoor area spacious, the bedrooms were comfortable and the kitchen and dining area more than adequate
Enjoyed Most:
The views over the bay, the spacious outdoor area and the number of excellent nearby restaurants.
Enjoyed Least:
Whilst it was not a major issue and would not stop us making a second visit, it was the 89 steps up to the road and the 225 steps down to the beach along with many steps into town etc. However, it is one way to walk off the excellent food we had in Positano
Surrounding Area:
The spectacular views of the Amalfi Coast and the food, both the fresh produce we purchased and cooked ourselves and the food served in the many restaurants.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring along good walking shoes. There are many restaurants close by, up on the main road, an excellent little restaurant just below the villa on the path into Positano and 3 or 4 restaurants on the beach below the villa.
We had no problem finding the property from the directions given. As thee is no cross ventilation the lounge dining area can get quite warm. I would suggest ceiling fans in this room. All bedrooms have ceiling fans.
Check In Out:
Check in and Check Out process was fine
