About The Experience
*POOL CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE. Located in a quiet residential area near Sorrento, this villa is surrounded by Mediterranean plant life including lemon trees, palms, and bougainvillea. From the terrace garden you can take in the beautiful sea and island views. The villa is divided into two adjacent buildings—both connect at the covered patio, which faces the garden and sea. The unique layout provides several little nooks to retreat to and enjoy the peaceful ambiance of the locale. There is also direct access to a rocky beach below. From the beach there is a footpath that leads to the tiny little village Marina della Lobra where you can find a bar and grocery store.
Location Description

This villa is located just 1km away from the center of Massa Lubrense, which has many restaurants, bars, shops, and one of the best pastry shops in the area! There are also excellent pizzerias, mini-markets, and a discotheque. A short drive away, there’s the lovely seaside town of Sorrento, which is famous for its limoncello (an alcoholic aperitif) and inlaid wood – you can visit one of the workshops still in operation today to see this centuries-old craft in action. Visit Sorrento’s 10th century Basilica di San Antonio, which was built to honor the patron saint of navigators and still attracts sailors’ offerings to this day. The 11th century Cathedral houses frescoes and a bell tower with a ceramic clock. The "Sorrento Summer of Music" is also held at the cloisters from July to September, and features international musicians performing alongside emerging talents.

Nearby Attractions: Positano is nearby. The town’s famous Spiaggia Grande has been described as one of the most beautiful beaches along the coast. You can also wander in to the many colorful boutiques or quaint cafés. If time permits, hire one of the town’s “sea taxis”; small boats which transport visitors to secluded bays only accessible by boat. Bus stops can take you up and down other beautiful towns along the coast, including Amalfi. Amalfi is a town that dates back to the 6th century and was once an important trading center with historical and medieval architecture throughout the town. The main sites include the Duomo, in Amalfi's center, the cathedral of Sant' Andrea, which dates back to the 11th century, and the Cloister of Paradise. There is also a museum dedicated to the works of Morelli and a museum where you can view artifacts of Amalfi's long and interesting history. During the summer months, there are daily ferries leaving from Positano to Capri, Sorrento, and Naples.

Customer Reviews

We had a great time and the villa has gorgeous views.
Enjoyed Most:
The outdoors and the views. The beach access was very good.
Enjoyed Least:
The fact that you could not walk to town.
Surrounding Area:
We loved Sorrento, Capri, Positano and Pompeii.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Meza Lumreza. We did hiking a few days but we had to use taxi most of time.
Tips or Restaurants:
Yes, the restaurant on top of the villa is Meza Lumbreza. Was incredible. We all had a wonderful meal and the food was excellent. They offered to pick us all up and brought us back. Would highly recommend it.
We had a car service.

The villa is truly amazing. One does not really realize how extensive until you start to discover not only the various rooms and layout but the many outside terraces
Enjoyed Most:
We were a party of 11 with 3 young children, an 11 year old boy and 14 year old girl, and the property worked extremely well for us. The kids and adults enjoyed the pool and outside area. We were able to all eat outside together without feeling cramped and the adults and older kids could escape the crowd into one of the many different areas of the house. No one felt cramped or on top of each other. The restaurants in town and at the Marina all knew of the property and were willing to deliver food and even pick us up and drop us off. So a car was not needed. The local supermarket also delivered food and even opened an account. The flowers and lemon orchard were truly a special gift.
Surrounding Area:
Walking to the Marina for boat rental, dinners, lunch and ice cream or even to pick up a few sundry items. The private beach was a special treat for the kids to swim in the sea.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Massa Lubrense was relatively close but I would not say it was walkable. The villa is at the end of a winding road that is pretty steep to climb. However, we made arrangements with Persico that provided taxi service to wherever we needed to go. As a matter of fact for the entire week that we were at the Villa, I did not get a chance to even go into town and walk around.
Tips or Restaurants:
We asked the house to be stocked before we arrived as aside from my husband and I all of our kids and grandkids were coming from overseas. My suggestion would be to wait until you arrive to determine what you need, call the local supermarket or have the house manager Tina do it and order what you want. The restaurants at the Marina are all good and as I mentioned before they will deliver and even pick you up and drop you off. In town we really like Il Cantuccio in Massa Lubrense. Francesco who we met the first day, was more than accommodating, delivering food, set up dinner reservations at both properties and going beyond. You will find that local establishments know the villa and you will be told "why not to any request".
Persico picked up everyone at Rome airport and dropped us off so we did not drive.

Incredible property! Great views. We loved the outdoor dining area and patio area at the front of the property. Spent most of our time there!
Enjoyed Most:
The views and location. The covered, outdoor dining area.
Enjoyed Least:
Not a huge deal but the road down to the property was sometimes a bit challenging as it is so narrow.
Surrounding Area:
We enjoyed going to Masse Lubrense and the ability to walk down to the village was very cool.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Masse Lubrense. Yes. To get to the market you would need to drive, though. We had rental cars so it was no big deal.
Tips or Restaurants:
Definitely have a car so you can get around. Il Cantuccio was phenomenal.
We followed the directions. We had to use the coordinates. All good though.
Check In Out:
It was great!
