The best of Provence is on display at this renovated 17th-century farmhouse hidden away on 44 acres of green parkland amidst hundred-year-old trees. Designed to accommodate large families with children, the property features a dedicated playroom, heated pool, tennis court and two guest cottages.

Location Description

The property is in a peaceful area between the villages of Eygalières (5 minutes by car) and Saint-Remy-de-Provence (10 minutes by car). Eygalières has small shops, a market and the well-regarded restaurant Bistro D’Eygalieres (pricey but worth every penny). Its sister restaurant, Le Petit Bru, is also nearby. Supermarkets can be found in Saint Rémy. Guests may reserve a guided tour of the village market at Eygalières, which takes place every Friday at 10 am. It includes wine tasting and a cooking class/meal at a local farmhouse. Ten percent of profits go to Slow Foods, a farm development program in Africa. Please inquire upon booking.

Exterior Description

(44 acres)
Set on sprawling parkland filled with pine trees, olive trees and lavender bushes, the grounds feature an organic vegetable garden, tennis court, pétanque court, ping-pong table, heated swimming pool (20 m x 8 m) with a rolling shutter and sun loungers. The pool house has a sofa and cushions, outdoor shower, inside shower, toilet, storage space, 2 small refrigerators and an ice maker. There is a courtyard with 4 love seats and a table and chairs for 4. Near the kitchen there is a gazebo with a pizza oven, wood BBQ and sitting area with cushions, where 14 - 20 people can dine alfresco under the wisteria. There is also a helicopter landing area.

Interior Description

Main House (Entirely air conditioned)
Ground Floor: The farmhouse opens on an entrance with a cloakroom. There is a living room with a large sofa, love-seat, armchair and a fireplace. The dining room with fireplace has a dining table for 12 adults (guests may request an additional table for children). The fully equipped kitchen has 5 gas burners, 2 large refrigerators, a freezer, a large oven, Thermomix, 2 dishwashers and blenders. Under the kitchen there is a wine cellar. There is one air-conditioned double bedroom with a king-size bed (180 cm), wardrobe and ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower, washbasin, separate toilet and hairdryer. At the back of the farmhouse there is a TV lounge with a sectional couch, plasma-screen satellite TV with English channels, DVD player, 2 large ceiling fans in addition to the integrated air-conditioning. There is also an attached playroom for children with a table for six, chalkboard and other supplies.
First Floor: To the right, there is a toilet room and a separate bathroom with a large bathtub, shower with polished concrete walls, heated towel rack and hairdryer. There are three bedrooms. The first bedroom has a small double bed (140 cm; comfortable for one; cozy for two), fan, ensuite bathroom with bathtub, shower, toilet and hairdryer, and direct access to the courtyard. The two other bedrooms are connected and best suited to children: one has 2 bunk beds (90 cm) for 4 kids, and the other has 3 single beds (90 cm) and is perfect for a nanny with small children. These two rooms share a nearby bathroom with a bathtub and toilet. To the left there is a master bedroom with a king-size bed (180 cm), gas fireplace and ensuite bathroom with bathtub, double sinks, shower, wardrobe and hairdryer.

Guest House 1 (Entirely air conditioned)
Ground Floor: There are two bedrooms. The first bedroom has a king-size bed (180 cm). The second bedroom has two single beds (90 cm each). These rooms share a bathroom that has a bathtub, shower, hairdryer, separate toilet room and terrace.

Guest House 2 (Entirely air conditioned)
Ground Floor: There is one bedroom with a four-poster queen-size bed (160 cm) and beautiful stone ensuite bathroom with a large shower, double sinks, toilet room and hairdryer.

Please Note:

• Air Conditioning is found throughout main house and guest cottages (with individual controls in each room).
• One of the highlights of this property is the presence of its caretakers, Dominique and Josepha. Dominique is in charge of the garden and all technical questions and Josepha is in charge of housekeeping and cooking (upon request).
• Toiletries and bathrobes included in each bathroom
• Each bedroom has fresh flowers.
• Hairdryers are available in all adult bathrooms.
• WiFi internet access and music system everywhere.
• The laundry is at the caretakers’ house; they are in charge of the machines.
• Guests may reserve a guided tour of the village market at Eygalières, which takes place every Friday at 10:00 AM. It includes wine tasting and a cooking class/meal at a local farmhouse. Ten percent of profits go to Slow Foods, a farm development program in Africa. Please inquire upon booking.
• Housekeeping is provided for 4 hours per day from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Additional Housekeeping can be arranged for an additional fee.
