About The Experience
The colors and textures of the Sorrento coast create a magnificent backdrop at this lovely stone villa perched on a hilltop in an ancient seaside hamlet. An ideal spot for a small wedding party or a gathering with friends and family, the villa has two annexes and offers sweeping views of the Gulf of Naples, a swimming pool, gardens and outdoor dining under a pergola.
Location Description

The villa is located in the hamlet of Santa Maria Annunziata, on the summit of a small hill with a splendid view of the island of Capri and the Gulf of Naples. Within walking distance guests will find a good restaurant offering local cuisine, and there is a general food shop 500 meters away. The larger village of Massa Lubrense is just 2.5 kilometers away. The nearest beach is at Marina del Cantone, beyond Nerano. The town of Massa Lubrense is 2.5 km away, where you will find more restaurants, shops, markets, and places to buy olive oil. There are also excellent pizzerias, mini-markets, and a discotheque.

Nearby Attractions: A short drive away, there's the lovely seaside town of Sorrento, which is famous for its limoncello (an alcoholic apertif) and inlaid wood - you can visit on of the workshops still in operation today to see this centuries-old craft in action. Other Sorrento attractions include the 10th century Basilica di San Antonio, which was build to honor the patron saint of navigators and still attracts sailors' offerings to this day. The 11th century Cathedral houses frescos and a bell tower with a ceramic clock. The "Sorrento Summer of Music" is also held at the cloisters from July to September, and features international musicians performing alongside of emerging talents. The towns of the Amalfi coast like Positano and the island of Capri make good day trips.

Customer Reviews

The view from the villa is astounding. We were a group of nine adults and we were able to use the villa as a home base for a week of activities on the Amalfi Coast.
Enjoyed Most:
There are numerous outdoor sitting areas all with incredible views and beautiful flowers. The bedrooms also has beautiful views.
Enjoyed Least:
Our guests who stayed in the annex areas did not have as nice an experience; the annexes were a bit stuffy and not as nicely decorated as the villa itself. Also it took two days to get the pool turned on and three days for it to really heat up which meant only 2 days of use.
Surrounding Area:
The Amalfi coast in incredibly beautiful. We did a farm to table activity, visited Sorrento, Positano, Capri, and Pompeii. We also swam in the ocean and learned how to make Napoli-style pizza.
Nearby Events or Locales:
There was no town within walking distance. But there is a great restaurant just around the corner from the villa.
Tips or Restaurants:
A trip to the grocery store is a must before arriving at the property. We needed everything from toilet paper to washing powder and dishwasher tablets. There was some pasta and red sauce plus a small bottle of olive oil and some garlic when we arrived. Wine is available for purchase at the villa.
We used a GPS to find the house but our friends used a taxi from Sorrento and had a tough time finding it. We hung a ribbon from a branch so others could find us.
Check In Out:
Eva was a great help to us.

The accommodation and daily experience of staying at the villa was the highlight of our visit to the Amalfi Coast. Very beautiful and restful.
Enjoyed Most:
We liked many things: the incredible view, the big kitchen with the large marble-topped table, the outdoor dining area under the trellis, the terrace with the comfortable upholstered outdoor furniture, and the pool with the multiple lounge chairs.
Enjoyed Least:
The stairs to reach the 2-bedroom annex cottage were too steep and not easy to use when carrying luggage. There were also some things that needed maintenance.
Surrounding Area:
We enjoyed the authenticity of the surrounding area -- a real neighbourhood with a small grocery store, a church and a local restaurant. Far away from the hordes of tourists in Positano, Amalfi, and Sorrento.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The nearest town was Massa Lubrense. It was not within easy walking distance, and the route for pedestrians to get there from the villa was not at all clear. Thank goodness for the little grocery store in Santa Maria Annunziata where one could get basic groceries, including fresh cut cheese and cold cuts, as well as milk and some fruit and vegetables.
Tips or Restaurants:
Future renters should bring or purchase the following: extra toilet paper, large garbage bags to dispose of kitchen refuse, and soap and shampoo for personal use. As for restaurants we recommend Ristorante da Michele at Marina Della Lobra, and advise that the nearby La Torre restaurant is not a Michelin star-rated restaurant, but a Michelin Tire rated restaurant!
We used Salvatore's transit service to get from the Port of Sorrento to the villa. They had no difficulty locating the villa.
Check In Out:
The check-in was conducted villa manager Eva, who was very personable and helpful. Tourist tax was less than we had anticipated.
