Overall:
We loved this apt. It is located in the heart of Siena right on Il Campo, the main square and one of the great public spaces of any city in the world. The apt is very comfortable and a great place to hang after a day of sight seeing. Beautiful and modern with old world charm - high frescoed ceilings.
Enjoyed Most:
The location. Beautiful shops right outside the door. A short walk to the Duomo (main cathedral) and other tourist attractions. Il Campo is right there - great place for coffee, wine or a drink. The best people watching. A number of great restaurants within a short walk.
Enjoyed Least:
It can be very noisy late at night. Il Campo is surrounded by high buildings which amplify the sound and Italians like to stay up late. Also, it is walk up of three long flights.
Surrounding Area:
Your are right in the heart of Siena. Everything is a short, albeit hilly walk. Staying there made us feel like a local.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We stayed in Siena the whole time. There is no town within walking distance. Florence is about a 1.5 hour train ride.
Tips or Restaurants:
The apt. is fully equipped. Mugolone is a great restaurant. The Palazzo Chigi-Saracini, a very short walk from the apt., is a jewel. It is a musical conservatory and museum. There is beautiful courtyard with a cafe. Do go through the museum (free), which is a series of rooms with photographs and art work. Go all the way through to the last room to watch videos of concerts sponsored by the conservatory.
Directions:
We arrived by train and took a taxi. You cannot take a car into Siena, nor would you want to with the narrow winding streets full of pedestrians. If you drive you must park in a garage on the outside the walls and take a taxi or walk.
Check In Out:
The check in was just fine. We were met by the owner's keyholder/house keeper. I did not understand a word she said but we communicated perfectly. I was able to text the owner about any issues (none). Check out was leave the keys and close the doors behind you.

Enjoyed Least:

Surrounding Area:
Everything - Siena is a beautiful city.
Tips or Restaurants:
Dinner at Le Loggie, latteria for gelato, il Murello for wine.

Overall:
Amazing location and property. My husband and I had an amazing experience. Location was fabulous and the property very well maintained.
Enjoyed Most:
Too many to name but the location, modern kitchen and bath, old world feel.
Enjoyed Least:
Being on the campo of course with the windows open in the morning you can hear the sounds of Siena waking up. Best to use the fan and to keep the window in the bedroom closed and the window in the larger room open with shutters closed. That worked the best.
Surrounding Area:
The historical city and access to Tuscany wine country, Florence and other surrounding areas.
Nearby Events or Locales:
No.
Tips or Restaurants:
Best advice don't haul a lot of luggage and it is several flights up. We took too many bags even though we swear every time we won't. There are laundry facilities nearby.
Directions:
We had no problem finding the property. GoogleMaps worked fine.
Check In Out:
Elena the key holder was fabulous. She was an amazing host and was concerned for our wellbeing and having an amazing time. We also loved that she provided water and other goodies upon our arrival. Very hospitable.
