Customer Reviews

Villa Adele is a fantastic property. Spectacular views and a very comfortable home. The kitchen is well equipped.
Enjoyed Most:
The views of the lake from the deck.
Enjoyed Least:
We had unseasonably hot temperatures. Fans in the rooms would have been quite helpful for sleeping.
Surrounding Area:
Stresa is a quaint town with nice shops and restaurants.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Stresa is the nearest town. It's walking distance from the villa but not recommended. The villa has a very steep hill which would be difficult to walk up and down. Definitely a car is required for this villa.
Tips or Restaurants:
The kitchen is very nicely equipped. We cooked many of our meals and enjoyed eating on the deck.
It's a difficult property to find. The easiest is to find the Hotel Amita on the main road. The road to the villa is just behind the hotel. We were grateful that Stefano met us at the hotel and showed us the way. Our guests, however, were not so fortunate and got lost trying to find the villa.
Check In Out:
Stefano was terrific. Easy process.

Robert, June

We enjoyed our stay, the lake and the town of Stresa, and the views from the villa are amazing, day and night.
Enjoyed Most:
The views are the best feature. The villa is up high enough on the hill and brilliantly placed to see all three of the Borromeo islands right in front of the villa, and then the length of the lake behind. The veranda is a great place to have meals, and enjoy the view, although the roof comes down a bit low perhaps, making the adjoining lounge room rather dark during the day.
Enjoyed Least:
The access to the villa is not for the faint it's a really narrow lane. Renters need to know this. Kitchen is rather small. Renters should also know that the villa is situated about 100 meters above a railway line cutting open between two tunnels, and the train noise is quite first instance of it we thought a plane was coming at us! We got used to it, but it is annoying especially late at night, when things are otherwise quiet
Surrounding Area:
The lake and islands are beautiful, and the day we had on a rented speedboat touring around the lake, stopping off for lunch in a little village, and pausing near a ruined castle on a mini island on the lake for a swim in the middle of the lake, was great. Also enjoyed dropping in for a drink at the grand art nouveau hotels in Stresa, and admiring the luxurious settings from a bygone era. Found a very good swimming pool with beach and pool near the gondola station at Stresa.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Stresa is more a short drive, but has plenty of cafes, restaurants and gelato bars and a Carrefour for household shopping, although the Conad in the other direction towards Bavena is bigger and better.
It is best to meet the agent at the hotel on the main road down the hill from the property..too hard otherwise.
