Overall:
Honestly, it was kind of a magical experience because of the setting in the hills above Fayence. The views from the villa deck were wonderful, with gliders overhead during the daytime, the sound of a running stream and a beautiful infinity pool. And the hospitality and friendliness of the hosts were unexpected and very much appreciated. They were a terrific couple who made us feel right at home.
Enjoyed Most:
The setting, as explained above. Once you were on the deck with a cup of coffee in the morning, the peacefulness and beauty of the surroundings were entrancing. It really did create a spell that continues to this day.
Enjoyed Least:
There was nothing we didn't like about the property. Our only complaint, and it's a small one, is that renters should know they need to bring their own toilet paper and shampoo.
Surrounding Area:
Everything. During the day, the gliders would be overhead, creating the sound of rushing wind as they swept by. If feeling adventurous, you could go down to the stream and get in the water. It actually looks like a Disneyland set, it's so idyllic and beautiful. And then the infinity pool, looking out over the valley, is just about perfect.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The nearest small town is Tourettes, which is within 15 minutes walking. Just past that is Fayence, a larger town with a wider range of stores and restaurants and that is only a 5 to 10 minute stroll from Fayence.
Tips or Restaurants:
As mentioned, bring toilet paper and shampoo. As for restaurants, there are enough choices in Tourettes and Fayence that renters will find something they love. And the Fayence market is twice a week and very much worth attending.
Check In Out:
We had absolutely no problems with check in or check out.

Overall:
Excellent - couldn't have been better!
Enjoyed Most:
Everything was wonderful: the setting, the house, the grounds, the infinity pool. As an added bonus, the private stream with its own waterfalls was incredible! Paul and Guillemette were charming hosts, always ready to help and fun to chat with.
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing, really. It was all delightful and we hated to leave.
Surrounding Area:
The surrounding area is beautiful, with many scenic vistas, charming small towns, and fantastic restaurants and shops.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Tourrettes was the closest small town and a short (though occasionally hilly) walk. Fayence was also quite walkable (we love to walk) and much bigger than Tourrettes, with several restaurants, shops, a local market, etc. Both are very low-key and delightful.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring water shoes/sandals for the stream/waterfalls. And good, comfortable walking shoes for making the trek to Tourrettes and Fayence.
Directions:
The written directions provided by the owners were very specific and helpful. We used a GPS but ignored it when instructed in the directions.
Check In Out:
Paul and Guillemette made it incredibly easy.

Overall:
This was a delightful experience. The villa is located in a very serene and beautiful place, high on a hill, with outstanding views toward the South. It was mostly cloudy and cool while we were there, so perhaps we didn't get the full effect of the views, but it was lovely, peaceful and quiet. We loved being able to walk to 2 hill towns, Fayence and Tourrettes, both interesting and quaint.
Enjoyed Most:
The outstanding location, views, beautiful gardens and delightful, heated swimming pool. There's even a stream with little waterfalls on the property.
Enjoyed Least:
Pretty sparse linens on the beds.
Surrounding Area:
Being in the countryside and enjoying Provence like a local. We visited local Boulangeries for croissants and cappuccino each morning and sampled some very good restaurants in the area. We shopped the farmers market in Fayence, and just enjoyed being in that location. We visited Nice, Antibes, and Grasse, but since the weather was cool and mostly overcast, the Cote D'Azur wasn't a high point. Mons was another hill town to the North, and it was also very interesting and worth a drive.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Tourettes was an easy walk from our villa, and very enjoyable to explore...it also provided easy access to Fayence, a larger hill town.
Tips or Restaurants:
There are a number of good restaurants in Fayence which we enjoyed.
Directions:
We used the instructions given to us by the owners...at the end, this was particularly helpful, as you must turn off the main road to a steep driveway which is easy to miss. Landmarks are essential.
Check In Out:
Easy and carefree. Paul and Guiellematte are cordial and warm hosts. We felt comfortable asking them for help and recommendations from time to time. They were delightful in every way.
