Location Description

The castle is located four kilometers from Monselice where there are shops, restaurants, and markets. Monselice is a town that dates back to 586 CE and features many interesting monuments and buildings from throughout the previous centuries. The Piazza Mazzini is Monselice’s main square and leads to the 12th century Santa Giustina Romanesque church, Villa Duodo, and the Carrarese Castle, a museum that today is home to many of Europe’s medieval weapons and armor. Rumor has it that the ghosts of of Jacopino de Carrara and his beloved Giudita still roam the castle today. A perfect destination for a day trip is the canal-filled city of Venice. As one of the top travel destinations in the world, Venice has plenty of amazing things to do and see. Although you may be inclined to take a gondola ride or two, be sure to visit the Grand Canal, St Mark’s Square, and the Basilica dei Frari.

Exterior Description

Dating back to 1150 and once referred to as the Monastery of Lispida, the property was bought by the Earls of Corinaldi in 1850. These new owners then added wine cellars to the property and began producing their own wine. During the early 1900’s, King Vittorio Emanuele the 3rd of Italy used the property as headquarters. Today, the castle and outbuildings are surrounded by parkland and lie in the center of the Euganean Hlls Natural Park. There are also olive groves, vineyards, trees, plants, and flowers making the landscape peaceful and beautiful. There is a shared, covered, and heated swimming pool (11.5 m x 3.5m) with jet streams looking out to the ancient monastic orchard. Sun loungers are nearby. Parking is available within the property grounds.

Interior Description

La Torre
This apartment, which faces a walled courtyard, was once used as the lodgings for the guardian fathers. It offers fantastic views of the surrounding countryside.
Ground floor: The entrance to this apartment is from the porch. There is a living room with a satellite TV and sofa bed (most suitable for one person, available on request for an additional cost). There is a dining area with a table and chairs, and a kitchen equipped with a cook-top, oven, and dishwasher. There is a bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower. There is also a laundry room with a washing machine.
First floor: A staircase leads up to two bedrooms and one bathroom. The first bedroom has a 90 cm single bed and the second bedroom has a 160 cm queen-sized bed. The bathroom has a sink, toilet, and Jacuzzi tub.

Gli Ulivi
This apartment faces the vineyards and is located on the southwest side of the castle. Ground Floor: The entrance to this apartment is from a private terrace that is furnished with a table, chairs, and umbrella. There is a living room with a sofa and satellite TV. The kitchen equipped with a wood-burning stove (for heating), oven, stove, microwave, and dishwasher. There is one bedroom with two 90 cm single beds. There are two bathrooms, each with a sink, toilet, and Jacuzzi tub. One of the bathrooms also has a washing machine.
First Floor: A staircase leads up to two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Each of the two bedrooms has two 90 cm single beds. The first bathroom has a sink, toilet, and Jacuzzi tub and the second bathroom has a sink, toilet, and shower.

Portico
This apartment faces the park in front of the castle. It also has a private terrace.
Ground Floor: The entrance to this apartment is from the terrace. There is a living room with a satellite TV and sofa bed (suitable for one additional person, available on request for an extracost). The kitchen corner is equipped with a cook-top, oven, microwave and dishwasher. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The first bedroom has two 90 cm single beds (can be joined to form one large bed upon request) and the second bedroom has a 170 cm queen-sized bed as well as a sofa bed suitable for one. The first bathroom has a sink, toilet, and Jacuzzi tub and the second bathroom has a sink, toilet, and tub. There is a washing machine (extra cost).

Reale
The entrance to this apartment is from the corridors that once led to the chambers of King Vittorio Emanuele the 3rd. There are two terraces, one in front of the garden and the other close to the kitchen. The second is furnished with a table and chairs.
Ground Floor: There is a living room with a couch and satellite TV, a dining room with a table and chairs, and a kitchen equipped with a cook-top, oven, microwave, and dishwasher. There are two bedrooms. The first bedroom has a 160 cm queen-sized bed (which can be separated to form two single beds upon prior request) as well as an ensuite bathroom with a sink, toilet, and tub. The second bedroom has two 90 cm single beds. The apartment also has a service bathroom with a toilet.

Il Re
First Floor: There is a living room with two single sofa beds and satellite TV, a kitchen with a microwave and dishwasher, one bedroom, and one bathroom. The bedroom has a 160 cm queen-sized bed and the bathroom has a sink, toilet, and shower. This apartment also has a billiard’s room.

Volto
This apartment faces the west side of the castle and is accessed by an antique spiral staircase. There is a private outside area under the porch facing the inner garden with a dining table and chairs. First Floor: There is a living room with a sofa (converts to a double bed, available on request for an extra cost) and armchair. The kitchen corner has an oven, dishwasher, fireplace and dining table for four to six. A few steps lead down to two adjacent bedrooms. The first bedroom has a king size bed (170 cm) and an ensuite bathroom with a shower, bathtub, sink, toilet and washing machine. From this room there is a door to the second bedroom, which has two single beds.
