This semidetached two-story villa sits on three acres of property in the countryside near Fiesole. Villa Fiorentina offers easy access via train, or car to downtown Florence. Florence has excellent sightseeing, museums, dining and shopping.

This property is in the village of Compiobbi (train station) near Fiesole just east of Florence in a rural Tuscan setting. With the location being so close to Florence, the villa offers the opportunity to experience some of the world’s most famous art and architecture. There are many things to do and see nearby, including opera at Mercato Sant’Ambrogio, the wine tours and tastings of the Chianti region, the Fiesole Amphitheater, truffle hunting, golf, tennis, and much more. The nearby town square has a supermarket along with a pastry shop and ATM machine.

At the entrance to the villa is a sitting area that overlooks the distant valley. In the upper gardens is a large pergola archway with a sitting and dining area equipped with a Tuscan barbeque and marble counter with sink. Adjacent to the panoramic infinity pool is another lounging area. There is also a hot tub for 8 people.
- Interior Description

Ground Floor: On the ground floor, the Leonardo DaVinci master suite has a custom king size bed (180 cm) and an en suite bathroom with a double sink, toilet and both a bath and shower with a built-in marble seat and rainfall shower. Also on the ground floor is the Galileo Galilei room. Entered from the hallway or terrace, this room has two single beds(90cm) and an en suite bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. The two single (90 cm) beds can easily be converted to a king (180 cm). An additional full bathroom with sink, toilet, and shower is on this floor.
There is a double bed that can be added inside one of the bedroom suites on this floor, or the bed can be placed near the entrance of the villa with a curtain to maintain some privacy.
First Floor: Up the stairs you will find the Dante Alighieri bedroom. This room has a large queen (160 cm) antique bed with views of rear garden and pergola. The bathroom has a double sink made of marble along with a shower, toilet and large closet. The final bedroom is The Vespucci, which overlooks the rear of the garden. The beds can convert from a large king size (180cm) bed to two single (90 cm) beds. The bathroom has a toilet, double sink, a Jacuzzi and shower along with a washing machine for the sole use of the guests. A gathering place for before or after dinner is the Great Room, a spacious living/dining with a Tuscan fireplace and a table that can serve 12-14 people. The kitchen is equipped with marble countertops, oven, an espresso machine, dishwasher, toaster, and a microwave. There are two bar stools at the marble counter for informal eating. The last room on the first floor is the multi media room which boasts a 200 satellite-channel flat screen television, Wi-Fi, desktop computer, printer/copier/fax machine, DVD player and a library with books for casual reading or tourism research.

- The extra double bed (for 9th and 10th person) can be placed in one of the bedrooms on the ground floor, or near the entrance of the villa. You must let us know ahead of time if the bed will be needed, and where it should be placed.
- Housekeeping is provided for two hours each day except Sunday. Laundry is washed and folded on Monday and Thursday.

Overall:
Fantastic. Beyond our expectations.
Enjoyed Most:
We were welcomed by Rossella and her daughter Emanuela - two charming ladies who looked after us superbly all week including cooking us three amazing Italian meals.
Enjoyed Least:
The 4.5 km drive up a narrow winding road from the local village to the property which made it difficult to eat out at night if we chose to do so.
Surrounding Area:
Easy access to the train into Florence once we negotiated the drive down.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Compiobbi and no it was not in walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
We took a taxi to a good restaurant recommended by Rossella which specialized in Florentine steak.
Directions:
The directions were fine.
Check In Out:
It was perfect. We rang Rossella the day before we were due to arrive and she agreed to let us arrive at 2 pm instead of between 4 and 7pm.

Overall:
We had an incredible time. I really can't think of anything negative to report.
Enjoyed Most:
I really liked the pergola that we ate dinner under every night. The kids might've liked that wonderful swimming pool. We had Rossella and Emanuela making and serving dinner, what a delight! That's the thing I'll miss the most.
Enjoyed Least:
There's a pretty sketchy road, winding and narrow, steep drop on one side, that you need to take to get there. I must admit though, looking back it was more fun and less scary and added to the whole experience.
Surrounding Area:
Not sure what you mean by the "surrounding area". The immediate area was woods, which gave a nice quiet backdrop. But Florence was only 20 minutes away, which we totally took advantage of.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Compiobbi was the nearest town and no, it was not within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
The house is very comfortable, like staying in a hotel essentially. We ate well at every meal. For a special dinner, with a fantastic view, you can't beat Omero. For a great sandwich/pannini, we really liked Salumeria Verdi - Pino's Sandwiches.
Directions:
That was a little difficult since the house address doesn't come up on the GPS. I really should've read the directions more closely though because it states that it's 4km up that winding road. We just thought we were going too far, when in fact we weren't going far enough.
Check In Out:
Checking in and out was much easier and much more relaxed than I expected.
