Scale the steps toward ancient convents, and then hike Sentiero degli Dei, or “The Path of the Gods,” for a trek that’s aptly named.

Location Description

Among the glittering string of Amalfi’s coastal gems, Praiano sparkles brightly. Praiano is an ancient fishing village, known for its cliffside drama of whitewashed houses, ocean views, historic churches (inlcuding the 16th century Chiesa di San Luca), wonderful hikes, charming culture and warm people. A steep path leads down the cliffs to a small stretch of beach and harbor called Marina di Praia. At Marina di Praia, you’ll want to visit Saracen tower to witness the original sculptures and artwork of Paolo Sandulli. For nightlife, simply stay in the village and head for Atricana, a unique nightclub rumored to have once entertained Jackie Kennedy.

Exterior Description

(200 m2) Villa Livia is a three-story historical villa that clings to the hillside in the center of Praiano. It features a private swimming pool, a lovely garden (50 m2) with wood benches and a pergola, and five spacious terraces from which you can enjoy spectacular views of the ocean, Li Galli islands, and the picturesque village of Praiano. The swimming pool (2.5 m x 8 m; 20 cm - 2.2 meters deep) has a whirlpool corner and is open from mid-May until the end of October. The pool area provides chairs, a sun umbrella, and a table with chairs. There are four terraces accessed from the the second level of the villa, all with picturesque views of the ocean, islands, and village. The first terrace (40 m2) is partially shaded by a bamboo pergola and is equipped with two deck chairs, an external shower, a tables and chairs. The second terrace (40 m2) is partially shaded by a wood roof and provides wood benches, a table with chairs, a sun umbrella, two deck chairs and two sun loungers. There is also a brickwork barbecue and a wood-fired pizza oven.The third terrace (50 m2) is partially shaded by a bamboo pergola and is equipped with stone benches, a deck chair, and a table with chairs. The fourth terrace (15 m2) is equipped with sun loungers, a table and chairs. The main entrance to the villa is at the parking level and is accessed without any steps. You will not need a car for this property, but there is a parking area for two cars inside the property gates.

Entrance Level:
There is a covered terrace (20 m2) equipped with tables and chairs. An arched French door leads to the interior. The first living room provides a warm welcome with its original terracotta tiles, vaulted ceiling, classic furniture, wood benches, and antiques. There is an elegant stone fireplace (for decorative purposes only) and an air conditioning/heating unit. A kitchenette shares the living room space. It’s fully equipped with a five-burner gas stove, an electric oven, large refrigerator with freezer, a dishwasher, microwave oven, an Italian-style coffee-maker, toaster and other small appliances. A dining table seats ten. There is a guest bath with sink and toilet and a laundry room with a washing machine, a clothes dryer, an iron and ironing board. Next, a second living area is accessible through an arched opening. Furnishings in this second living space include two long sofas, an armchair, and antique pieces. This room is also equipped with air conditioning/heating unit. Two large windows provide an ocean view.
Mezzanine Level: (up 13 steps)
There is a queen size bed (160x180cm) and a single bed (80x90cm). A French door provides access to the swimming pool area.
First Floor:
There is a bedroom with a single bed (80x90cm) and a small en-suite bathroom, with sink, toilet, and a fully enclosed shower. The bedroom opens to an ocean view garden that is shaded by a pergola.
Second Floor: There are four terraces on this level.
There is a bedroom with a king size bed (160x180cm), armchair and a desk, large television (local channels), air conditioning/heating unit, and access to a terrace. The next bedroom has two twin beds (80x90cm, can be joined on request), an armchair and a desk, air conditioning/heating unit, and access to a terrace. There is a bathroom with handmade majolica tiles, a sink, toilet and a Jacuzzi bathtub.
Lower Level: (down 8 steps from the entrance level)
There is a bathroom with a sink, toilet and a fully enclosed shower. There is also a sauna.
