The apartment is ideally located along the central western shore, just a 2-minute stroll to central Menaggio. This pretty resort town places guests at an enviable starting point for reaching the Tremezzina restaurants, walking routes (Sacro Monte di Ossuccio, Greenway del Lago, San Martino) and beautiful Villa attractions (Villa Carlotta and Villa Balbianello). In Menaggio, you can hop the ferry to Bellagio for fabulous shopping, sightseeing at Villa Melzi and Villa Serbelloni gardens, or sports activities at the Jungle Raider Park. The ferry also takes folks to Varenna, where
they can enjoy Hotel Villa Cipressi, Villa Monastero, and Castello di Vezio
. The Italian Alp Ski resorts of Piani di Bobbio and Madesimo (both within 85 minutes’ drive away) and the delights of Lake Lugano and its fashionable Swiss lake city (under 44 minutes’ drive away) are also within easy reach from Menaggio. The lakeview layout provides an open plan living room with terrace access, a comfortable L-shaped sofa, satellite tv and DVD player. Dine al fresco on the furnished terrace, or indoors in the sunny kitchen’s table for 6. The kitchen is fully equipped with stove, oven and refrigerator. Two double bedrooms are each furnished with a four-poster bed (200 cm x 140 cm) and offer lake views. A third bedroom features bunk beds (190 cm x 90 cm each). The first bathroom provides a tub with shower attachment, a sink, toilet and bidet,
while the second bathroom features a sink and toilet. A washing machine is also provided.

Overall:
We had a truly wonderful time at the villa. It was all that the photos promised, but so much more! It exceeded our expectations!
Enjoyed Most:
The view is magnificent. The location is great. The villa itself is breathtaking and we didn't know this until we arrived. The kitchen was awesome and we cooked most nights. In short, we just loved it.
Enjoyed Least:
Our only difficulty was upon arrival. We hadn't been given instructions of where to go in order to pick up a key - we had to ask randomly at several spots, and our driver finally had to drop us off so we had to tote our luggage back and forth into town until we somehow found the local property managers who took us to the building. The last email we received said we would get an email with instructions but we never did. It was a stressful day. But once inside we loved it.

Surrounding Area:
Positioned on Lake Como, the balcony provides the most incredible view... the gardens of the Palazzo are spectacular, and it was easy to walk to the ferry and the local grocery store.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Easy to get into the center of Menaggio. No care needed.
Tips or Restaurants:
we had lunch several days in Varenna and loved that. Truthfully the kitchen in the villa was so well equipped that we enjoyed making a simple pasta meal with ingredients purchased at the store, and eating dinner with great wine on our balcony. There really are not many views like that in the entire world, so why sit inside a restaurant? The weather was perfect every day.
Directions:
Please see above. This was a true problem unfortunately. The property managers in town were just lovely and helpful but it took us quite a while and a great deal of effort to find them. Once there, they gave us a printed document with very clear instructions about how to get to the villa. If we had had this beforehand it would have been easy. We did have the address of the villa, but of course it was locked since a key was required.
