Location Description

Located just a few kilometers away from Beaumes de Venise, this villa is located along "la route des vins" (the wine trail). Beaumes de Venise rests at the foot of a plateau, protected from the mistral winds, and is known for the numerous caves in the hill. The town itself offers a number of historic buildings, including a 16th century church, an 18th century fountain, and the ruins of a 12th century chateau. The town is renowned for its Muscat wine, as well as an olive oil mill open to the public. This villa is also within easy driving distance of the Dentelles do Montmirail, a small chain of mountains composed of strikingly jagged limestone, of which Mont Ventoux is the highest peak. This is a popular spot for hiking and rock climbing.

Exterior Description

This lovely house enjoys a quiet, private setting. The furnishings and décor are tasteful and new. The house has two terraces and recent landscaping with lavender and native plants. Walls and trees enclose the land (close to 1 acre.) The house and garden look out over the Vaucluse Mountains and Luberon. There are steps leading down to a fenced pool (3m x 4.6m) and Jacuzzi. The pool area is equipped with nice outdoor furniture and a barbecue. There are tennis courts in nearby Beaumes de Venise (3.2 km), horseback riding facilities in Loriol du Comtat (6 km), and golf at Grand Avignon (22 km). Please note: The property's many levels and steps might be difficult for small children to navigate. Three hours of weekly maid service are included in the rental price. Non-smokers are preferred.

Interior Description

Ground Level: There is a spacious living/dining room with satellite TV, DVD, stereo, a couch, and fireplace, as well as a table with chairs. The kitchen, located just off the entrance, is well equipped with a cook-top, electric oven, American fridge/freezer, microwave, and dishwasher. Large glass doors open onto the terrace and the pool area below. There is a laundry room with a washing machine. Two steps lower from the entrance is a bedroom with a queen-sized bed (160 cm) and en suite bathroom with two sinks, a shower, and a separate WC. Four steps higher from the living room is one bedroom with two single beds (90 cm), which can be made into one double bed upon request, and a third bedroom with a queen-sized bed (160 cm). These two bedrooms share a very nice bathroom with two sinks, a WC, and shower. There is a laundry room with a washing machine.
