Estepona has retained its Spanish character. Safe and pleasant, love the wall murals and the potted flowers along the street.

We used a car rental arranged through the owner of the property at an excellent rate.

We enjoyed the welcome package: coffee, milk, orange juice ....etc a nice bottle of wine. Ask the owner for his list of restaurant recommendations.

Quiet and peaceful but close enough to the highway for easy travel. Good beach, etc. a 10 minute walk away.

A very good restaurant, close enough to walk to, is Swingers. The host, Antonio, is fantastic. The food is wonderful and not highly priced.

Overall:
Very good experience with excellent hospitality and awesome view. Very comfortable.
Enjoyed Most:
The view, atmosphere, and seating by the pool were the best!
Enjoyed Least:
The WiFi signal is weak. The bathroom shower is a bit small.
Surrounding Area:
Everything. The beach, chiringuitos, and old town are just a few minutes drive away. Manilva--a picturesque village--is about 15 minutes away and a lot of Costa del Sol is pretty close, such as Marbella, Casares, Puerto Banus, etc.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Estepona. Several places definitely within walking distance. Since we had a car, we preferred to take it so we didn't do much walking.
Tips or Restaurants:
The villa is well-equipped and Neville is extremely helpful so I wouldn't worry about bringing stuff. There are a couple of grocery store within a 5-minutes drive (walking distance) with everything available. Neville is also a gold mine in terms of restaurant recommendations. La Menorah (5 minutes walk) is one of the local gems and definitely a must.
Directions:
Directions were very detailed. Used a GPS in the rental so it was very easy.
Check In Out:
Absolutely great--Neville was there to greet us, helped us orient ourselves and settle in and check-out was a breeze.

Ariel, April

Overall:
The whole experience from booking to staying in the villa was great. We enjoyed every moment we spent at the villa and even the unheated pool was pleasantly refreshing. We would definitely recommend to all our friends, and we will return.
Enjoyed Most:
Our apartment was fully equipped, very clean and tastefully decorated. Cold drinks (water, wine, beer and milk) that the owners thoughtfully prepared on the day of our arrival was a definitely going an extra mile and very much appreciated by us. Also, we appreciated their recommendations of where to go, what places to see, with hand-written maps that were very helpful, especially on the the way to the airport at 5:00 in the morning in complete darkness.

Nothing to add here.

Great location for day trips and the locals were very friendly.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Estepona was the closest town, but not walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
Take advantage of the small towns located around the area.

Overall:
It was a very good experience. Just what the doctor ordered.
Enjoyed Most:
The peaceful atmospherer.> Enjoyed Least:
WiFi is a bit hit and miss, but once you found the "hot spot" and got connected, it was OK.
Surrounding Area:
Good restaurant within a 5 minute walk (La Menorah).
Nearby Events or Locales:
Estepona is walkable if you are fit. Otherwise it was only a 10-minute drive into the old town center.
Tips or Restaurants:
For an afternoon beer and tapas, Don Cappichino For special occasions - Robbies in the Old Town or La Menorah.
Directions:
Used a GPS to supplement written instructions.

Overall:
Our overall experience was one of comfort, calm, and beauty. We felt well-cared for by our gracious and knowledgeable hosts. This location turned out to be the perfect place from which to venture into the heart of Andalusia, and to explore the Costa del Sol.
Enjoyed Most:
Tough question but probably we most appreciated the hospitality. Our frig was stocked with a variety of beverages, including a bottle of champagne and fresh local orange juice. There was a variety of coffee and teas, and cooking basics. Neville and Lynne provided a copious amount of material on things to do, places to see, and onsite entertainment for the rainy day which we did not experience. Neville was engaging without being intrusive. He answered questions, gave directions, provided tips on how best to get tickets and what time of day to visit certain places. The best physical attribute of the property may be its beauty, neatness and cleanliness. The pool sparkled, the beds held fine linens, and the cacti and citrus were blooming.
Enjoyed Least:
This is difficult. There was nothing we disliked about the property. The trade-off for the beauty and tranquility was the location outside of town in a neighborhood of similar properties, somewhat isolated from local culture. And you definitely need a car to get around. But again, it was a wonderful place to return to at the end of a long day of sightseeing and local culture.
Surrounding Area:
This list is endless. Our purpose for going to southern Spain was to see the famous white villages in the hills of Andalusia. Many of these were within an hour's drive of Villa Tranquilla. We were pleasantly surprised that we could do day trips seemingly as far afield as Tangier in Morocco and Gibraltar. Both were definitely worth visiting. We recommend a guide to see behind the Moorish facades of Tangier.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The town of Estepona was a 7-10 minute walk. I wouldn't call it small but it did have a charming and substantial old town and a lovely port and marina.
Tips or Restaurants:
The things we most missed having were good, detailed maps One of Estepona and surrounding area and then one of southern Spain showing the myriad roads and byways. The best meal we had was a 3-minute walk from our apartment. It's called La Menorah, which is reflected in the decor, but it does not specialize in Jewish food. The menu consisted of dishes from throughout Europe made from local ingredients fish, shellfish, lamb, produce and, of course, wines and cheeses. It is not inexpensive but it's priced comparably to the dishes it prepares. In the white villages we enjoyed local goat and sheep cheeses and a variety of jambon, the thin-sliced, cured ham that is ubiquitous in Spain.
Directions:
Did not use a GPS. The hosts gave accurate directions for arrivals by train, plane, bus, and car. They guided us on the right route leaving the property for different places.

Overall:
Overall our experience was amazing at this villa. Everything was perfect, from our hosts to the apartment, to the pool, to the area. It was one of the best places we have ever stayed!
Enjoyed Most:
It was very safe, quiet and relaxing and the owners were very knowledgeable about the area.
Enjoyed Least:
There was really nothing we didn't like at this place.
Surrounding Area:
The recommended restaurants were fabulous and we liked that we were close to the ocean as well as other towns that we wanted to visit. We did a few day trips to other areas and it was an easy starting point from our villa.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Estepona--it wasn't withing walking distance but we had a car rental. You pretty much needed a car, but the area was easy to navigate and the owners drew good maps. There were 2 excellent restaurants that you were able to walk to which was nice after a day of sightseeing.
Tips or Restaurants:
This villa has everything so don't bother over-packing with hair dryers, laundry soap, or towels (except for maybe towels to take to the beach). Pool towels are provided. The owners know the best restaurants in the area and we really enjoyed their recommendations. The paella place where you need to order ahead is a must!
Directions:
We just followed the directions from the owners and they got us there no problem. We didn't use a GPS at all in this area--it was quite easy to navigate. Just make sure you have a few Euros on you to pay the tolls on the highway.

Amber, September

Overall:
The villa was a clean, open design that was very relaxing and the owners were extremely helpful during our stay. They were friendly and would go out of their way to make sure the stay was pleasant!
Enjoyed Most:
The view and quiet relaxing pool.
Enjoyed Least:
Far from the town of Estepona ... need a car.
Surrounding Area:
The sun, beaches and friendly people of Estepona.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Estepona..approximately 40 minutes by foot. The bus did not run on a regular basis to Don Pedro.
Tips or Restaurants:
A car is a must for this area unless you don't mind walking. Perhaps some bikes for the renters to use or hire would be great for getting into town. Then, a car would not be necessary. There is great transportation from Malaga to Estepona by bus!
Check In Out:
The owners were great! They even let us store some bags, while we went to Seville for the weekend. Much easier travelling with a day bag!

Thaddeus, June

Overall:
Wonderful villa. We will go back there again in the next couple of years.
Enjoyed Most:
Everything was as advertised. The villa was perfect for us. Our hosts were very helpful and friendly.
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing.
Surrounding Area:
Closeness to Estepona. Restaurants and wednesday market. Locals are very friendly.
Nearby Events or Locales:
One could walk to the outskirts of town but the town center was a short drive.
Tips or Restaurants:
Be prepared to enjoy your stay and relax as much as needed.

Robert, June

Overall:
We will wholeheartedly recommend this property to all of our friends. It is a class act! We hope to make many more return trips!!!
Enjoyed Most:
Enjoyed the spaciousness of the villa and the decor and landscaping. Its location was perfect. Also truly enjoyed the property owner, who was a lot of fun and quite witty. He was so informative and helpful. The bedroom was massive! And did I mention CLEAN? It exceeded our expectations.
Enjoyed Least:
NOTHING
Surrounding Area:
It was beautiful! Palm trees, tropical flowers, exceptional food and wine. The people were friendly and courteous. Always felt safe. Beautiful sights to see and enjoy the culture of the Spanish people. Travel was easy, too. Not to mention the awesome Mediterranean Sea.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Estepona! It would have been a bit of a walk to town; however there is bus service and taxis. Not a problem at all. Estepona Old Town was truly worthwhile. Quaint streets, shops, cafes, homes, etc. The port area is also lovely and there are many nice restaurants there. The owner made some great recommendations.
Tips or Restaurants:
No suggestions - go and discover Estepona - you'll love it. Particularly liked Cafe Paradiso in the port and La Menorrah which is near the Villa. Never had a bad culinary experience and we're food snobs!
Check In Out:
The owner made it effortless.
