Customer Reviews

Overall:
We had a great time! Apartment was very comfortable and in a great location.
Enjoyed Most:
The view from terrace.
Enjoyed Least:
One of the bedrooms was on the side that opened on the piazza below...could get noisy at night.
Surrounding Area:
Within walking distance to SO many sites, restaurants, museums.
Directions:
We took cab from airport. 20-Euro flat rate. 20 minute ride.

Overall:
Our experience at the property was wonderful and everything we anticipated. First, the staff is lovely and greeted us when we arrived. They were also very helpful in terms of printing museum tickets and other minor requests we made. The apartment itself is very nice. We had our two teenage sons with us and the apartment fit the 4 of us well. Everything was immaculately clean and the location can't be beat. It is only a few blocks from the Ufizzi but it seems like it is in its own quiet corner of Florence. Even with the nighttime bustle in the Piazza Santa Croce it is still quiet on the 4th floor and the patio is very nice.
Enjoyed Most:
Everything about it.
Surrounding Area:
The location is perfect on Piazza Santa Croce. Only a few blocks from everything and just a little quieter than other parts of Florence.
Nearby Events or Locales:
This is in the historic section of Florence.

Overall:
I would go back there in a minute. I never needed the staff at the place as everything is self-sufficient. Take a map and it's easy to get around if you are walking.
Enjoyed Most:
The view from the terrace and the location
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Walked all over the city but took bus #7 to Fiesole.
Tips or Restaurants:
At this place, nothing is needed. There is noise at night, but the air conditioner works to block it out. Buy at the local market - go to the left of the Santa Croce - and find the street to the left opposite the government building with flags on the building. Walk up that street and on the left you will see the best open-air market with tremendously fresh food, cooked meats, fish and butcher shops. Then go home and cook with the window open overlooking the square. At sunset have a Caprese salad, antipasto, fresh pasta with homemade tomato sauce, mussels in white wine sauce with fresh oregano with plenty of Chianti on the terrace. What a place!
Directions:
Just tell the cabbie - Piazza Santa Croce because they can't drive on the square to 22. Cab ride from the train terminal should be about 12 Euros, but we paid about 15 Euros on Sunday coming back from Venice.

Overall:
The owner provided a cooking class that was out of this world.
Enjoyed Most:
The view...... location...... the management.
Enjoyed Least:
Really nothing. It was perfect. Eating cheese, bread, olive oil and drinking wine on the balcony was incredible.
Surrounding Area:
Florence - the food, perfectly located.
Nearby Events or Locales:
we took a car to Siena and wineries.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring a smile and prepair to relax.
Directions:
The local manager was wonderful and made it all work.

Overall:
I would definitely rent this particular property. It was well appointed, well located, and the views were awesome. Aside from the noise and the mosquites, a phenomenal apartment and a phenomenal Italy experience!
Enjoyed Most:
The spacious floor plan, roof top terrace and location with in the city of Florence
Enjoyed Least:
Santa Croce becomes "Party Central" starting at about 1:00pm and continues until sun up. Bongo drums, soccer games, partying and screaming. We couldn't figure out how to turn on the AC until the last 3 days. Once we did that, the problem was solved. Also, lots of mosquites. Again, closing the windows and turning on the AC solved the problem. Be sure to ask how to operate the AC and where the units are located.
Surrounding Area:
The walking distance to everything!
Tips or Restaurants:
Definitely the need to bring mosquito repellent and ear plugs if you don't want to use the AC. The Standa market, which is just 3 blocks away, was a great supermarket and 2 restaurants that we liked a lot were the Open Bar restaurant south of the Arno, close to the Ponte Vecchio, and also Santa Croce Pizzeria across the square was fantastic.
