Customer Reviews

Overall:
Wonderful stay at the villa - would definitely stay again. Property itself was beautiful, view spectacular, and within easy walking distance to Amalfi - a little longer to Ravello, but well worth it. Daniela and Luigi were outstanding! The nights Luigi cooked were unforgettable.
Enjoyed Most:
The view was second to none. Unbelievable, just like a movie.
Enjoyed Least:
There was nothing to dislike in my opinion. Really, everything about the place was great. The outside and inside spaces were wonderful, the kitchen was perfect. If I had any complaint it was that we couldn't find coffee pods for the coffee maker - but we learned how to make coffee in a press!
Surrounding Area:
Amalfi was an excellent place to go for dinner, and to walk around during the day. Ravello was beautiful for the views, and a limoncello in the garden at Villa Cimbrone. Atrani was nice for a drink in the square. It is well worth taking a ferry to Capri, or a bus to Positano for the shopping.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Atrani was a short walk, and Amalfi just a little further. Ravello was an hour walk uphill but well worth it for the views.
Tips or Restaurants:
Anywhere you eat will be great - we didn't have any bad food at all. The pasticceria (pastry shop) in the central Amalfi square is quite tasty and there are great wine stores there as well.
Directions:
We took a taxi from the train station so we didn't need to worry about directions.
Check In Out:
Everything went smoothly!

Ease of getting to everywhere by walking, taxi or bus.
Enjoyed Least:
Housekeeping came everyday at 8am.
Surrounding Area:
Everything
Nearby Events or Locales:
Amalfi and Ravello; yes, within walking distance and just beautiful.
Tips or Restaurants:
Hire Luigi the chef and Daniella to cook and serve you. Outstanding 5 Stars
Directions:
No, we had a taxi arranged to pick us up in Salerno to take us to the Villa Majestica.
Check In Out:
No, easy.

Overall:
Very enjoyable.
Enjoyed Most:
The pool and the view.
Enjoyed Least:
There is no TV in the master bedroom.
Surrounding Area:
Ravello and the island of Capri were amazing.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Amalfi
Tips or Restaurants:
Have the fridge stocked every few days. Grocery stores are not acccessible.
Check In Out:
Use the water taxis to explore the coast and rent a private boat to tour Capri. Well worth it.

Brent, September

Overall:
A wonderful relaxing villa. Lots of room and privacy to enjoy the Amalfi coastline.
Enjoyed Most:
The pool and the view.
Enjoyed Least:
Driveway and parking were a challenge.
Surrounding Area:
The small towns of Minori and Maiori..
Nearby Events or Locales:
Amalfi
Directions:
We used a GPS. We found the villa on Google Earth and knew what the entrance looked like.

Rob, September

Overall:
Wonderful. This was our second stay and the property was even better than we remembered it.
Enjoyed Most:
The spectacular views and the extraordinary grounds. And the pool was outstanding. In addition, there is plenty of room for gathering, lounging, dining, and sleeping.
Enjoyed Least:
No complaints. The internet access and elevator had a few minor problems--but they were promptly attended to.
Surrounding Area:
Everything. The Amalfi Coast a little bit of heaven on Earth.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Ravello (up) and Atrani (down). It's possible to walk to both, but it's a strenuous hike.
Tips or Restaurants:
The management staff is wonderful. Virginia, the houskeeper, has excellent suggestions and contacts at local restaurants. Take advantage.
Directions:
We couldn't get the GPS to accept the local address for the property. So, we used a nearby hotel as our destination point and improvised from there.

David, June

Overall:
Very good. Great villa, spectacular views.
Enjoyed Most:
The views and the open space and light inside the villa.
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing was not to like.
Surrounding Area:
The views.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Amalfi. Not really in walking distance but there were restaurants close by. Everything is uphill, though.
Directions:
A GPS would help with this one. There are several ways in and out of this place.

Michael, April

Overall:
Very quiet place with a tremendous view of the sea. Perfect for relaxing with the family.
Enjoyed Most:
The large spaces for relaxtion with terraces and pool, space for privacy.
Enjoyed Least:
Insects - mosquitoes. Also, there were some technical problems with the Internet, light and water.
Surrounding Area:
Beautiful Ravello is 5 km from the villa. We very much liked the beach in Atrani.
Nearby Events or Locales:
To reach the nearest small towns a car is necessary.
Tips or Restaurants:
We have been surprised by the Welcome Basket at the villa when we arrived. It was a pleasant surprise. Restaurants can be found in Amalfi and Ravello, small cafes and restaurants in Atrani.
Directions:
I recommend renting a car with GPS. The taxis are expensive, therefore, a small car is better.
Check In Out:
A lot of helpful information is given.

Olga, July

Overall:
The villa was the perfect accommodation for our blended family of nine consisting of four adult children, their spouses, and Mama and Papa!
Enjoyed Most:
Can't be limited to one thing that we liked most: the views, the patios, the pool area, the private gate accessing the pathways to Ravello, Atrani, Amalfi, etc.!!!
Enjoyed Least:
Because of our numbers, we were traveling in a 9 passenger Fiat van-bus. The bus was too big to be able to maneuver the entire steep driveway and backing out onto the busy Ravello road was always a challenge.
Surrounding Area:
We liked the challenge of hiking up and down the ancient stairways that led to Amalfi, Atrani, and Ravello. Great exercise!
Nearby Events or Locales:
Atrani was a 10 minute walk at most. No problem burning off dinner calories on the climb back. The paths are somewhat lighted at night, but a flashlight came in handy.
Tips or Restaurants:
No need to bring hairdryers as the villa is well equipped. We loved the restaurant next to the beach in Atrani - La Caverna, I think. And we were made to feel very special in Amalfi at the Trattoria Barraca.
Directions:
We did not use a GPS but am glad we knew the villa's local name as there is a ceramic sign on the wall identifying it.

Jan, October

Enjoyed Most:
Magnificient view and sense of privacy.
Enjoyed Least:
Navigating the driveway.
Surrounding Area:
Boat service from Amalfi to other towns and Capri.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Atrani was in walking distance.

Alex, October

Enjoyed Most:
The views were spectacular and the grounds/gardens were incredible. Tons of outdoor living space best suited for active guests, as there are a lot of stairs. The pool is located on the top level which provides a beautiful view of the coast -- but a hike to get to! The person who provides the daily housekeeping, Elisa, is wonderful.
Enjoyed Least:
Better directions are needed. We were lucky to find the villa because I had printed a picture of it before I left from the website and showed it to a local person in Atrani who knew the house. The villa has a staff person named Bonita who clearly told us she was not on salary and presumably expected to be paid for her services. This was awkward and should be clear when someone books the villa whether her services are included or excluded. We found her a little pushy. The maid Elisa was wonderful. Editor's Note: Bonita has been replaced due to the problems listed above.
Surrounding Area:
The location is central to the Amalfi coast making it easy to do day trips to Positano, Capri, Minori, etc. The villa itself has incredible gardens and terraces so it was comfortable and inviting to just stay in our villa most days.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Atrani -- yes, a .5 mile walk downhill. The uphill walk is tough so we took a taxi on the way home. Amalfi is also walking distance -- again the downhill walk is pretty easy but take a taxi back!
Tips or Restaurants:
Eoli - spelling may not be correct - in Amalfi was incredible. The food and service were beyond expectations.

Margot, July

Overall:
Thank you to my Travel Advisor for helping me pull off a great Italian Holiday for my closest friends. You have been wonderful. Great information. Great house and experience.
Enjoyed Most:
The home was overwhelming. Beautiful but a bit difficult for friends to find. The pool was a bit hard to reach as it was 2 stories above the home, but the view was worth every climb of the stairs.
Enjoyed Least:
Everything about the home was wonderful. A few maintenance people arrivals were a bit of a frustration. The property manager was very nice and helpful until we booked a boat excursion to Capri with someone other than who she recommended.
Surrounding Area:
Everything....restaurants, villages, views.
