Customer Reviews

Overall:
Great location. Pedestrian street. Fairly well-equipped kitchen so we could dine in.
Enjoyed Most:
Location. Good size one-bedroom apt for old Rome. Well-equipped and well furnished. Clean and efficient.
Enjoyed Least:
No views and dark - windows look out over the building's interior tiny courtyard. Balcony looks good in pictures but there's no reason to use it to look at building walls.
Surrounding Area:
Everything.
Nearby Events or Locales:
In the center of the old city. Could walk to almost everything.
Tips or Restaurants:
The restaurants surrounding the piazzas are generally not as good.
Directions:
Take a taxi or Uber. Need to walk a couple of blocks as it is in a pedestrian area.
Check In Out:
Easy and efficient. Key holder was helpful with directions and things to do.

Sean, November

Overall:
The apartment is clean, bright, and airy. The cross ventilation in the bedroom makes sleeping pleasant.
Enjoyed Most:
The location. We have stayed in this area before and liked it, which is why we chose to rent there again.
Enjoyed Least:
Couch and bed are lower than normal height. Cutlery is in a drawer under the stove. Off the elevator there are 3 steps into the apartment, 3 steps from the kitchen into the living room, 1 step into the bedroom. These are not problems for most people, but anyone with knee or back issues should be aware of them. Also, the clothes drying rack on the balcony is miniscule.
Surrounding Area:
Walking to the Campo dei Fiori to supply ourselves with fresh fruit, bread, and cheese for our breakfasts. The fresh gorgonzola is so good we had it every morning! It is walking distance to the places most people want to see like Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, Trastevere.
Tips or Restaurants:
We ate at Ristorante Campo dei Fiori, Via della Corda, 3, several times. I had carcioffi a la Romana as an appetizer at every meal! We also enjoyed a more elegant dinner at Ristorante Fortunato, near the Pantheon. Renters might want to bring wash cloths, since Italians don't seem to use them. If you stay more than a few days you will probably need to buy additional soap and paper towels.
Directions:
We took a taxi from Fiumicino so can't be helpful to drivers, except they should be warned about the difficulty of getting to the apt. because of the crowds and narrowness of the street.
Check In Out:
Hassan made it easy. When we arrived he showed us around, and told us how things worked. When we left we just left the keys in the kitchen and closed the door.

Mary Lou, October

Overall:
Excellent location and good value. We stayed in the same building before where there are several apartments and love the area. The place is clean and well equipped.
Enjoyed Most:
Location, near everything and previous guests left many travel books on Rome that we used. Very quiet, bed comfortable, cool breeze from windows and overall a great place to stay in heart of Rome.
Enjoyed Least:
The view looks onto the courtyard, but don't let this deter you!
Surrounding Area:
Heart of Rome and most places you can walk. Many restaurants and historic things to see.
Tips or Restaurants:
Small flashlight, plastic baggies for leftovers etc. We have learned it is easier to use a Woolite type product in the sink for any washing of clothes. Restaurants around the corner from Campo dei Fiori is Da Pancrazio, and if you go to their lower level you will see the remains of a former Roman amphitheater. They also still use this area for the restaurant and there is a small model of what it looked like 2,000 years ago.
Directions:
We had our driver call ahead, as we rented there before.
Check In Out:
Hussan was great and let us in a little early. The day before our departure to Italy I received a telephone call from the property manger confirming we were coming in and the time.

Brian, September

Overall:
Perfect location in Rome. Hassan's orientation was thorough and helpful. Contacts with the property manager were enabling and generous. Everything worked. Plenty of light and windows and breeze. Easy access to all locations.
Enjoyed Most:
We could walk anywhere in the city.
Enjoyed Least:
Minor things like no dish soap, no laundry detergent, a shortage of paper towels (not things we wanted to buy). Learned how to use a coffee press given that there is no other coffee maker (inconvenient for keeping coffee warmed).
Surrounding Area:
Every place we wanted to visit was within 30 minutes. We spent a lot of time in Trastevere which was just across the river.
Tips or Restaurants:
L'Invincible across the Ponte Garibaldi was superb and is highly recommended. We also enjoyed Roscioli (across the street from the apartment), though it was a bit pricey.

Overall:
The location was excellent for what we wanted to do. The Campo dei Fiori market was fun in the morning and exciting at night. Walk to everything!! Great pick!!
Enjoyed Most:
Location.
Enjoyed Least:
A little noisy at night, but not too bad.
Surrounding Area:
Fun, close to everthing.
Tips or Restaurants:
The restaurants in the plaza were great and you could walk across the river to lots of other good places.

Ed, May

Overall:
Excellent experience. Very well laid out apartment and very quiet.
Enjoyed Most:
Location Location Location. We walked everywhere in old Rome, Spanish Steps, The Vatican, Piazza Navonna, The Pantheon, Trastevere, and of course the Fourm and Colosseum.
Enjoyed Least:
Not much natural light.
Surrounding Area:
Very centrally located with everything within walking distance e.g. supermarket, bakery, coffee.
Tips or Restaurants:
There is so much choice. We used DK Rome Top Ten and it was an excellent guide for our tastes.
Directions:
The cost from Airport to Apartment is Euro 45 by Taxi...make sure to negotiate. This is the easiest and best way to get there. If you take the express train you'll still need a cab because it is too far to walk with your luggage and ends up costing you more.

Max, June

Overall:
We had a wonderful stay at Cristoforo. The apartment is not large but was perfect for two people who spent most of our time out and about in Rome.
Enjoyed Most:
It's clean, comfortable, and well soundproofed in what can be a noisy city. The views are of interior courtyards but there is plenty of light and it's a very pleasant space. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom is sunny.
Enjoyed Least:
The one drawback might be that the kitchen is small and short on counter space, so it would be difficult to do a lot of cooking there. But we never made more than breakfast there--too many great restaurants and food shops nearby.
Surrounding Area:
The location is terrific, just a block or so from the Campo dei Fiori with its daily food market the neighborhood is also very lively at night with many restaurants and cafes. Walking distance from almost anything you'd want to see in Rome from the Pantheon to the Vatican.
Tips or Restaurants:
The Roscioli bakery around the corner is one of the city's best, and the same family runs what is now a very chic salumeria-cafe. A few blocks north, near the Pantheon, is what some say is the best espresso in Rome at Cafe St. Eustachio. And try the artisanal beer at Ar Galletto in Piazza Farnese.

Overall:
Very favorable experience. Hassan was prompt and efficient, introduced us to every detail that we needed to know to make our stay pleasant.
Enjoyed Most:
Location.
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing.
Surrounding Area:
The Campo dei Fiori area may be the best place in Rome for walking and people watching.
Directions:
We are familiar with this area and did not use or need GPS, we do walk with a compass in our pocket which helped in the decision of "turn right or left" more than once.
Check In Out:
All went as smoothly as we could have possibly wanted.

Ann, March

Enjoyed Most:
The location -- Campo dei Fiori is right down the street.
Enjoyed Least:
It felt shabby, and the towels were almost threadbare and mismatched. The garbage holding area for the building was visible from the common area hallway and it smelled. Editor's Note: The garbage area referred to above is not inside the apartment, but to the side of the entrance to the building. Also, please notify the property contact if you experience any disappointments as listed above so that any problems can be addressed immediately.
Surrounding Area:
Lots of sights nearby and within walking distance Pantheon, Forum, Piazza Navona. Vatican is about a 15-minute walk along the river.
Directions:
We had a driver from the airport arranged by Rent Villas.
Check In Out:
Hassan was there when we arrived and was friendly and helpful to provide some sight-seeing ideas.

Lynette, November

Overall:
The location was perfect for us! We walked everywhere - the Coliseum, the Forum ruins, the Pantheon, Trevi fountain, St. Peter's Basilica, the Vatican City. The apartment was so central to everything we wanted to see and experience.
Enjoyed Most:
It was very clean and very quiet. Perfect location for what we wanted to see while in Rome.
Enjoyed Least:
There were no utensils in the kitchen. Nothing to stir sugar in our coffee and tea. No cooking utensils. There were 5 steak knives in the kitchen and that was it. The washing machine did not have any instructions on its use. The international symbols were not helpful at all. Editor's Note: The utensils are in a drawer under the oven. November 2008
Surrounding Area:
The farmers market just blocks away was great. There were also several small, corner cafes very close to the apartment. We quickly found one for a daily glass of wine and people watching in the mid-afternoons.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The Vatican City is within walking distance of the apartment.
Tips or Restaurants:
Ask the Keyholder how to use the washing machine. Several very good restaurants in Campo dei Fiori - farmers market during the day and a lively dining spot in the evening and only about 5 blocks from the apartment.
Directions:
We hailed a taxi at the airport and merely gave the driver a copy of the paperwork which had the apartment address on it. He got us there in about 20 minutes.
Check In Out:
Our Keyholder was at the front door when we arrived. He offered to take one of our bags after introductions and then led us into the building and into our unit. We completed the paperwork in mere minutes as we had read the requirements and had several copies of our passports ready for him.

Bob, October

Overall:
Amazing. Highlight of our honeymoon. It was really great - fully renovated and new when we arrived. Really clean. I tell everyone about what a wonderful experience we had with you guys - you do such a great job!
Enjoyed Most:
Location is great. The owner was awesome - he met us and showed us around the apartment. Got us a cab to get to the train station.
Surrounding Area:
The street is pedestrian only and opens up into a piazza with bars and restaurants. 5 minute walk to Colosseum.
