Customer Reviews

Overall:
Fantastic place with beautiful views, very secluded and quiet. Great and very large covered outdoor patio.
Enjoyed Most:
The outdoor patio.
Enjoyed Least:
Cannot think of anything.
Surrounding Area:
The scenic winding country roads to easily access Greve, Radda, San Gimignano, Figline (train to Florence). Every Tuscan town we wanted to visit was within easy driving distance.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Lucolena- it was about 2 kms away - was easily walkable (half an hour's walk) but we usually took the car.
Tips or Restaurants:
Lovely local trattoria in Dudda (4kms away), pizzeria in Lucolena on weekends, fabulous restaurants in Radda and Greve.
Directions:
Returning to Florence we used the GPS on our phone which took us back via secondary roads in 52 minutes. The directions provided as you near the property are very clear. Recommend you use a GPS for most direct route.
Check In Out:
Checking in and out was flawless. Leonardo was extremely welcoming and knowledgeable.

Liz, September

Overall:
We couldn't have been happier.
Enjoyed Most:
Rural but accessible to major sites we wanted to visit -- Siena, Arezzo, hill towns, not even too far to day trip to Ravenna by car.
Surrounding Area:
Beautiful scenery.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Dudda. A bit of a hike, but doable.

Jacqueline, March

Overall:
We had a wonderful time.
Enjoyed Most:
Finding that it included WiFi and that there was cell phone reception, which was surprising for it's rural location. The property was very new, very clean, and very well equipped.
Enjoyed Least:
Cost of heating.
Surrounding Area:
It was quiet and scenic.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Lucolena; yes, but it's a long walk.
Tips or Restaurants:
No need to bring cutting boards. Bring extra T, and also bring easy wash and dry clothing because there is a washer but no dryer, which is common in Italy.
Directions:
I used Google maps ahead of time to locate the property. From there, in conjunction with using a GPS in our car, it was relatively easy to find.
Check In Out:
The host and hostess were there waiting for us and were very helpful getting us checked in and oriented to the unit and local and regional attractions.

Overall:
GREAT!
Enjoyed Most:
Location in the country, central location, very clean and well equipped, just great!
Enjoyed Least:
That we had to leave after two weeks.
Surrounding Area:
The view, the wine, the food, the people, the trips to Florence and other cities, the marketplace in Greve.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Lucolena was within walking distance, Greve was only a 10 minute drive and was much bigger. Duda was only a mile away but had but one restaurant which was not bad by any means, and very reasonable.
Tips or Restaurants:
Use the express train from Figline to Florence - 25 minutes and about 4 Euros. On your day of arrival, use the COOP supermarket in Figline or Greve and shop as if you were at home. The apartments are fully equipped to cook and serve great meals and the shopping is great fun. There is a small deli in Lucolena - walking distance which has fresh and very good food.
Directions:
A GPS is a MUST if you plan to travel from the property often. We rented one online that had all of Europe for about $100 for 2 weeks.
Check In Out:
The manager is the very BEST.

Joseph, October

Overall:
Excellent. The owner was an excellent host.
Enjoyed Most:
Surroundings, view and outdoor seating area were spectacular.
Enjoyed Least:
Single bed mattresses should be replaced. Apartment stayed damp and humid - it would have benefited from a dehumidifier, or at least screens on the windows so we could have left the windows open to try to dry it out.
Surrounding Area:
Nearby village of Dudda has an excellent cafe - we went there twice for dinner, and could easily have gone back. Location in the Chianti Classico region was superb.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Luccolena was a very short drive away.
Tips or Restaurants:
Take the time to climb the hill to see the medieval castle architectural dig!

Diane, July

Overall:
Wonderful. Great place to stay.
Enjoyed Most:
The location was fantastic. Near Greve. Beautiful drive. Great views of the vineyards and olive trees.
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing to dislike.
Surrounding Area:
The entire area is beautiful.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Lucolena was the nearest town. It really wasn't within walking distance. However, you will probably have a car while touring Tuscany so it really isn't a problem.
Tips or Restaurants:
Everything was provided. While checking in, please ask questions about scenic drives, places to eat, etc. They gave great advice.

Stewart, May

Overall:
The place was beautiful, much better than what the pictures in the Internet showed. First, it is old farmhouse build in the 1600's, I believe, renovated in the Tuscan style with flowers all over, some lemon trees with lemons that we used and the view is tremendous, you can see as far as your eyes allow...
Enjoyed Most:
It is very private; each apartment has a place to eat out. Ours was the best, even though we did not use it much because it was cold and raining for 14 of the 15 days, very unusual this time of year. We were in awe of the beauty inside, all Tuscan style decorated very tastefully with beautiful pictures and nick-knacks. The kitchen, which is big and beautiful, was well equipped. My daughter says she wants one like that. The living room with TV is big and also appealing. We saw that there were two full bathrooms with showers and bidet, large size on the main floor. We could not believe it! The bedroom was very comfortable with more than enough blankets and sheets. Also, outside there is a building with oven to make pizzas. There is a clean and beautiful area with a terrace overlooking the fields of olive trees and grapevines, really ideal. The owner was very helpful as was his assistant.
Enjoyed Least:
On the first floor there was a bedroom with twin beds. My friends who shared the room said that the bathroom was very small, but the beds were comfortable and it was big enough.
Surrounding Area:
We toured the area which is truly beautiful and in spite of the weather we enjoyed it very much.
