Customer Reviews

Overall:
It was absolutely fabulous!
Enjoyed Most:
We liked everything: pool, outdoor fireplace, quiet and beautiful atmosphere, and the nearby village and church. We even attended a Mozart concert.
Surrounding Area:
The local Tavarnelle Restaurant (highly recommend), church, people, and Village COOP grocery were all within easy reach.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Tavarnelle was the nearest village, but really wasn't within walking. We were glad to have a car.
Tips or Restaurants:
We loved the restaurant just a bit north of the villa on the edge of town; we found the service to be friendly and attentive--plus it offered nice atmosphere and reasonable prices.
Directions:
GPS is absolutely necessary.

Overall:
Excellent. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Enjoyed Most:
The quiet peacefulness. After being in Rome and Florence it was a very relaxing change. Scenery was absolutely beautiful.
Surrounding Area:
Close to beautiful vineyards. Loved the small little communities.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Tavarnelle
Tips or Restaurants:
Be sure to purchase basic, such as salt/pepper, dish soap, toilet paper, etc.

Overall:
It was just so quiet and serene--just like something out of an Italian storybook. The location is beautiful, quiet, and all by itself on a hilltop overlooking olive trees and vineyards. Just made you want to stop and take it all in and we did. Sat by the pool with wine we bought at a local vineyard, bought some cheese and crackers, and gazed at our surroundings. Highly recommend!
Enjoyed Most:
The location, quietness, and the wonderful service we received from Patricia, the estate manager. She was just wonderful. So friiendly to us. We were late getting there and could not find the place (we were right down the road) and she sent someone out to find us and bring us to the villa. The next morning she showed up with coffee, cream, and fresh made croissants as we did not have time to make it to the market before we got there. Certainly made our day!
Enjoyed Least:
Only thing was the screens would not close all the way down.
Surrounding Area:
The beauty of the hills and all the towns we visited. Easy driving. We were there for a week and went to Florence, Greve, stopped in Panzano for a wine tasting in the center of town. Bought a glass and tasted about 25 different wines. Next went to Castallina in Chiant and then San Donato for a incredible dinner. Went to Siena and just hung out at our villa in the yard or down by the pool. Very relaxing!
Nearby Events or Locales:
Romita and Tavernelle. We went several times and had dinner at local cafes and trattorias. People were so friendly and gave us great info on where to go around the area.
Tips or Restaurants:
The restaurant at the bottom of the hill for sure--superb! La Fattoria. Went twice. There is a Coop market in Tavarnelle where you can get everything you need.
Directions:
We did have a GPS--which was excellent.

Overall:
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!!! We loved this property and the surrounding areas.
Enjoyed Most:
The location, peace and quiet, the pool, the town, the view and the people who worked there!
Enjoyed Least:
The couch and chair in the living area were pretty old and looked really worn.
Surrounding Area:
It was a great location and beautiful view. Close to Florence and other little towns but still out in the country to enjoy the peace and quiet.
Tips or Restaurants:
Wash and dish cloths. There is a Coop supermarket in town in case you forget anything. Great restaurants, explore!
Directions:
We did not use a GPS but went strictly by Rentvillas directions. We had no problem.
Check In Out:
Our flight was delayed and we arrived a whole day late. We didn't have a phone so couldn't communicate that we were going to be late. When we got to the property no one was there but an older gentleman in the garden. Thank God for Anso! Although he didn't speak English and we didn't speak Italian we communicated enough so that he drove into to town and got his son to come out and let us in! What an adventure!!! Irene, the woman who worked in the reception area was sooo helpful. She called the Rome apartment for us to let them know when we would be arriving!

Overall:
The Villa was everything we hoped for. Nice and remote and adjacent to working vineyards. A wonderful experience and we have already recommended it to some of our friends who will be traveling next year.
Enjoyed Most:
While the Villa is very nice, Gloria is the one who made it delightful with her warm welcome and helpful attitude. Alessandro and I had several interesting exchanges with my un poco Italian and his hand gestures, and we appreciated his gift of a bottle of the local wine. The gardener, gave us a collection of basil, thyme and other herbs that kept the rooms fragrantly Italian and spiced up our salads. His recommendations through Gloria on some non-tourist local towns to visit really added to our Chianti experience.
Directions:
The directions were clear but we managed to miss one turn at the end and trying to get directions from a lady who didn't speak English with my very very limited Italian simply added to the experience.
