Customer Reviews

Overall:
We had a marvelous stay. Daniela was most helpful and always available when needed.
Enjoyed Most:
We had an on-the-roof balcony which overlooked the Arno. So fun.
Enjoyed Least:
Stairs getting up to apartment
Surrounding Area:
Eating and watching people in the district directly behind the apartment.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We were in Florence and didn't venture to any other towns while there. No need to --- we had busy days to see everything.
Tips or Restaurants:
Daniela directed us to a nearby grocery for wine, fruit and snacks. Otherwise we had everything we needed.
Directions:
Directions were fine. We used a taxi from the train depot and I just gave him the address
Check In Out:
Check in and out were easy.

Overall:
The location was perfect for us away from the heart and very busy part of Florence, but perhaps not so good for first-time visitors who might want to be in the historic center.
Enjoyed Most:
The roof top view of the city and river.
Enjoyed Least:
The lack of windows and natural light.
Surrounding Area:
Lots of little restaurants, with "Zeb" being a great find on Yelp.
Tips or Restaurants:
Good for a couple with children as the other bedrooms were small and not appropriate to share with another couple.
Directions:
It was an easy taxi ride from the train station but a bit of a long walk with luggage.
Check In Out:
No issues, as they were very gracious and helpful

Overall:
We loved our stay at this property! The entire process and stay was virtually effortless, and the apartment felt like home away from home. We are very pleased we chose Palazzo dell'Arno - Citrine for our time in Florence.
Enjoyed Most:
The view was absolutely incredible, which means the location was ideal. Easy walking distance to all the major sites, even the train station wasn't too far (without luggage). But in a neighborhood away from the touristy hustle and bustle, which was a bonus.
Enjoyed Least:
The small, windowless extra bedrooms without windows. Realize this was a trade-off for the rooftop view, but felt like little cells - our kids adapted, however. And there is a fold-out double bed in the living area, which could have been used.
Surrounding Area:
We loved the neighborhood, with the walking/biking trail along the river across the street, and lots of little shops and ristorantes within a 10-15 minute walk. Plus the Ponte Vecchio was just down the road, as was the Pitti Palace.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Florence proper was just across the bridge, easily a 5-minute walk.
Tips or Restaurants:
The apartment had virtually everything, including shampoo and shower soap/gel and a full array of kitchen utensils and small appliances, even a dishwasher + electric tea kettle + coffee machine. We ended up not needing the few supplies we brought. We didn't have a bad restaurant experience the entire week.
Directions:
We just took a taxi, and the address was enough.
Check In Out:
There is a hotel-like front desk in the lobby, and the friendly staff was extra helpful during both check-in and check-out. The check-in clerk took us to the room, helped with bags, and showed us the entire apartment, including climate controls and how the lights worked. Very convenient and worry free.

Overall:
The view was amazing and it was a safe and happy place!
Enjoyed Most:
The view from the balcony.
Enjoyed Least:
The living room and kitchen were warm.
Surrounding Area:
The close proximity to everything!
Tips or Restaurants:
I Latini is always a must when in Florence!
Directions:
Take a taxi from the train station for sure! Too far to walk.
Check In Out:
They were extra helpful and spoke good English!

Overall:
Comfortable and convenient. Loved opening the shutters and watching the city go by. You are located in the midst of the city's activities with enough privacy so that it is your choice whether to participate or not.
Enjoyed Most:
Awakening to the sweet sound of the restaurant employees singing in Italian as they set up for the day.
Enjoyed Least:
Not enough fans.
Surrounding Area:
I felt safe and it was pretty easy to find my way to and from places of interest. Located close to the subway and bus stops.
Tips or Restaurants:
The restaurants on either side were good and their staff treated us well.
Directions:
Did not use GPS. Would have appreciated better instructions on how to use local phones.
Check In Out:
Really enjoyed the stay. Great location to "feel" the pulse of the city. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and fun!

Overall:
Magical! From the moment we got off the plane and saw the city of Florence nestled in the hills of Tuscany, we saw the most beautiful art, architecture, and people everywhere. We were awestruck by both the beauty and the warmth of Florence. Even the December chilly rain did not dampen our joy at being there.
Enjoyed Most:
Palazzo dell'Arno's location was perfect. A very short walking distance from the Ponte Vecchio, the Pitti Palace, and, right across the Arno, the Duomo and the heart of Florence, the Uffizi and the Accademia. It was also a wonderful building, expertly restored and the rooms were extremely comfortable, elegant, and welcoming. What we liked most was the property manager, Daniela, who made us feel like favorite visitors to her home. She could not have been more gracious or thoughtful. We can't wait to go back to our home away from home on the Arno.
Enjoyed Least:
There was nothing not to like. Daniela made certain that everything was wonderful - even a place to secure my mobility scooter inside the locked garden of dell'Arno.
Surrounding Area:
The ease with which we could make our way to wherever we wanted to go, the magnificent scenery, the sense of feeling at home and not at all alien to our surroundings.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We focused on Florence totally. we wish we had had at least a month there before even considering exploring outside the city. There was still so much more to experience and to revisit.
Tips or Restaurants:
Know that you will be in the best and most caring hands. The lady who changed the towels every day and cleaned the rooms was exceptional. We managed to communicate with facial expressions and hand signs and felt as though we were speaking the same language. I had tried to learn a few words of Italian and wish that I had done so much more to learn the language. There was never a problem because people were so willing to help everywhere we went. I would want to honor them more by being able to speak more Italian. Sostanza's, a very tiny neighborhood restaurant that has been serving wonderful meals for a very long time. My doctor's father-in-law was in Italy at the end of WWII. He said the meal he had there was the best of his life. My doctor and his wife went to Florence in the 80's and dined there and said that, for them as well, it was the best meal of their lives!
Directions:
No GPS. No coordinates - just a map of Florence and a taxi driver who was very excited about our visiting his beloved city.

After phoning Daniela from the airport, we found her waiting with the warmest welcome as soon as we arrived about 330 pm. We knew immediately that it was going to be a wonderful week. When we left on Sunday, we found the taxi Daniela had reserved for us the day before right on time.
