Customer Reviews
Overall:
The six of us agreed that the villa was exactly as advertised and we had a great week enjoying it.
Enjoyed Most:
The location is somewhat secluded but very peaceful, with beautiful views of the hills.
Enjoyed Least:
We were told to boil the water before drinking or cooking. This required us to buy bottled water for the week.
Surrounding Area:
Great location to use as a base to explore large towns such as Lucca or Florence but also was close to some very nice small towns such as Camiaore and Pietrasanta.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Camaiore. The villa is above the town about a mile from the town center. The roads are very narrow, no sidewalks, and only individuals in great shape should attempt to walk there.
Tips or Restaurants:
The villa has a well equipped kitchen but renters should be prepared to bring such things a coffee, tea, sugar, salt, pepper, milk, juice, bread etc. Also, for this particular villa, bring bottled water.
Directions:
We used GPS (WAZE) which was very accurate. The printed directions were accurate, but we recommend driving very slowly as you enter Camaiore and proceed to the villa. The roads are very narrow with some blind mergers with other road and the immediate entrance to the villa property is not well marked. It also did not use the Casa Marta name, instead it is known as La Damigella.
Check In Out:
Definitely contact the property manager, who is good with the English language, but not expert, to clarify the water situation at the villa before you leave the towns.
