Customer Reviews

Our overall experience was positive.
Enjoyed Most:
The fact that it was out of town and away from the hustle and bustle completely. We also felt completely safe and the villa has awesome windows and doors.
Enjoyed Least:
The washing machine did not completely work or spin most of the time and the directions and icons on it were difficult to understand. Editor's Note: European washers have very, very long, energy-efficient cycles and generally do not spin the clothes to the extent we are accustomed to with American machines. Be prepared to hang wet clothing to dry!
Surrounding Area:
Total peace and quiet.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The answer is no, you have to rent a moped or a vehicle as everything by way of driving is 10 or 15 minutes away.
Tips or Restaurants:
10 minutes up the road on the left hand side is a restaurant local to the Greeks, named Taverna Zisis. This is where the locals actually eat.
We took advantage of a taxi meeting us at the airport and bringing us into Rethymno to get our rental car. This was great as we did not have to stress about navigating the mountainous island.

All four of us had a great week at this villa.
Enjoyed Most:
Seclusion and privacy. Good size pool and outdoor furniture. One cleaning service and pool maintenance included.
Enjoyed Least:
Backed on to Dmitri's restaurant, which had Karaoke until early Sunday morning.
Surrounding Area:
Simple and out of the main tourist spots.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Stavromenos. Not walkable. Two mini-markets and three/four cafes in walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
We had everything we needed. We ate at Adriana's restaurant (100 yards down the road) for six of the seven nights. Excellent food and friendly service. We also had lunch at Aleko's cafe in Armeni. Outstanding meal with no menu!! Price was 15 euros per head and the courses kept coming. Well worth the trip.
We did not use GPS. We went into town and worked our way back.
Check In Out:
Check in was handled by a person at the Cafe Mathios, who just handed us the keys. No security deposit required. When we left, we shut the door and handed the keys back.

Enjoyable, restful, peaceful.
Enjoyed Most:
The outside seating area and the pool
Enjoyed Least:
Jumbled assortment of dishes, cups, plates etc and no wine glasses! No instructions for any electrical appliances. Television all in German.
Surrounding Area:
Lovely people, restaurants, and shops.

Tips or Restaurants:
Bring a mobile phone. Try Adrianas Taverna. Lovely food and staff so friendly.
