Customer Reviews

Overall:
We had a fabulous time. We were hoping for a quiet, well appointed Tuscany villa overlooking a valley with olive trees and got precisely that.
Enjoyed Most:
Typically Tuscan, fit out and view
Enjoyed Least:
Delayed garbage collection. The gas cook top needs some maintenance. The clothes dryer and internet reception were poor.
Surrounding Area:
Perfect Tuscan outlook, well-located even if a little remote ( although we liked the peace and quiet).
Nearby Events or Locales:
Nearest village is San Martino in Freddana, 3 kms drive only on very narrow road. Had a great supermarket with fabulous deli and butcher - had the best Tuscan bistecca and cured meats
Tips or Restaurants:
Need a small rental car (narrow roads), off street parking good for 2 cars, but a little difficult to access, we had arranged pre-stocked groceries etc. prior to arrival which was good. Simply supermarket in San Martino in Fredanna is very good. We also had a nice meal at Il Vipore, the nearest restaurant--very friendly and Tuscan style.
Directions:
Finding the villa can be a little challenging as GPS is problematic in this area and the directions provided only really only make sense if you are already familiar with area - there are a number of options to access from Lucca. The road to the villa is very narrow and windy , normal driving care needs to be taken with regular horn blasts as the locals do , although there is hardly any traffic at all most of the time. Once you know the road it is fine. We enjoyed it.
Check In Out:
We were very fortunate to have Serena great us and see us off, as well as regular attendances during our 2 week stay. Very pleasant experience.

Overall:
It was the perfect getaway. Relaxed yet Tuscan. We felt right at home.
Enjoyed Most:
The view and the outdoor areas.
Enjoyed Least:
The sun getting cut off from the pool at around 4pm and the noise of cars beeping their horns and speeding around the corner on the road.
Surrounding Area:
Shops were close.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Not within walking distance but was close.
Tips or Restaurants:
Mosquito spray
Directions:
We used a GPS with the property coordinates.

Overall:
We had the most wonderful holiday as a family and spent a large part of it relaxing around the property. Everyone had a great time.
Enjoyed Most:
We loved the layout with a feeling of space and separation when required but also a sense of togetherness in the communal areas. The garden was wonderful.
Enjoyed Least:
The position of the pool becoming in the shade quite quickly!
Surrounding Area:
The closeness of the village. The countryside and the walking.
Nearby Events or Locales:
A good walk for the village and the closest town Lucca was a 20 minute drive.
Tips or Restaurants:
A good book and wine! There were some great restaurants in Lucca and I would recommend one evening having a chef just for the experience.
Directions:
We used the GPS and coordinates which worked well.
Check In Out:
Check in and check out were good. One challenge was the key holder didn't really speak English so a few things were overlooked like the process for rubbish recycling. We muddled through with a translation book but it was a challenge!
