Customer Reviews

Everything was wonderful at the villa, very relaxing and clean!
Enjoyed Most:
The pool and outdoor dining area with the view was my favorite.
Enjoyed Least:
The bathrooms. The shower was a little small.
Surrounding Area:
Very close to the city of Florence.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Florence, not in walking distance.

We had a wonderful stay at the property. Loved being able to pick fresh rosemary, lemons and cherries. There was plenty of space to spread out. We spent most of our time at the pool and at the outdoor dining. Loved that pool towels were provided.
Enjoyed Most:
The pool and the gardens are beautiful. There is plenty of space for a large crowd. The master bedroom shower is wonderful!
Enjoyed Least:
Some instructions were in Italian so we needed a dictionary to figure out what they were instructing us to do. The stove was awesome but it was hard to figure out the oven. Even the private chef needed help. The last 10 feet of the driveway was a little rough - you need the 4-wheel drive for that! Other bathroom showers were a little tricky getting in/out and using.
Surrounding Area:
We were surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. We took a horseback ride (just 5 minutes from the villa) up to the castle to sample the wine. Wine was excellent - mailed a case home which arrived in less then a week! The estate is absolutely beautiful!
Nearby Events or Locales:
I think the nearest village is Antella which is about a 10 minute drive. No way you can walk there. There is a little bar with an outdoor seating area with a breathtaking view!
Tips or Restaurants:
Ice is not something you can buy at the store. We couldn't even by ice cube trays. If you like ice with your drinks, I would bring a couple of trays. Bug spray would be good to bring. We loved eating at Nuovo Ranch - about a 10 minute drive. Seems like a place locals eat. Food was awesome and we sat outside under an arbor.
GPS is great until you get into Florence then it is a disaster. If you can avoid driving in Florence, do.
Check In Out:
Check-in/check-out was a breeze - although there was some language barrier. I was expecting to be charged for a bunch of little things - especially after reading other reviews for other properties but we got 100 percent of our deposit back. We were left with wine, water and fruit in the kitchen that was complimentary.

Enjoyed Most:
We loved it all.
Enjoyed Least:
The guest room (bed) without a view that had a different entrance.
Surrounding Area:
Florence and Siena...and the views!
Nearby Events or Locales:
San Donato; it's not within walking distance, but a short drive away.
Tips or Restaurants:
A great restaurant near the villa is Centi Palmi. In Florence proper we liked I Latini. We also had a wonderful chef and her helper from Lucca at the villa one night. I'd recommend that; we booked her through RentVillas.
We did not use the GPS, but it would have made a difference.
