We were mostly very happy with our experience.
Enjoyed Most:
The location (Goult) was ideal for exploring the Luberon. The town has good restaurants and food stores within walking distance. The property felt secure and was comfortable. As there were 4 of us we appreciated that we each had our own bedroom and that the beds were comfortable. We also appreciated the quiet. We also appreciated the fact that when we did have any problems we only had to call on the agents up the street and they were most responsive. Herve was very helpful. We had a cleaner, Jennifer, who came 3 times and she was very efficient.
Enjoyed Least:
The kitchen was fairly well equipped with lots of dishes and pot and pans, but no skillet. I know this is a minor complaint. Also the TV kept losing the signal and we had to call on the agent more than once. Thank goodness for iPads and cell phones!
Surrounding Area:
We loved the area!! There are numerous delightful villages and towns just a few kilometres away. Also the nearest big town, Coustellet, had a large supermarket and a great Sunday market. Three of us are hikers and we walked many of the well marked paths between towns, such as between Bonnieux and Lacoste. The village of Goult itself has good restaurants, a bakery, a cheese shop, a well stocked small grocery and a number of small gift shops. Most appealing is the fact that it is somewhat off the beaten path.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The nearest community was Lumiere just at the base of the hill. For us hikers it was easily accessible. Many other small villages were close by but not within walking distance (unless you are hikers) Regardless, a car is a necessity for this location.
Tips or Restaurants:
We were pleasantly surprised that we were supplied with paper products such as toilet paper, cling wrap, foil wrap, coffee filters etc. Goult has some fine restaurants. We ate at Le Carillon and La Terasse. Both provided excellent meals and great service. We did not try La Bartavelle as we had read that we needed to reserve a week or more in advance though it has a very good reputation. The local Café le Post was great for casual lunches or coffeewine. It seems to be the place where the locals meet especially on the weekends.
We had no problem locating the village using our GPS. Once in the village we called the agent and he was prompt to meet with us.
Check In Out:
We were expecting to hand over a 600 Euro deposit but it wasn't required so this pleased us. They also did not require us to provide a copy of my insurance and our passports although we were prepared to do so.
