Customer Reviews

Overall:
Exceeded our expectations.
Enjoyed Most:
Location close to everything.
Enjoyed Least:
The mattresses were firm.
Surrounding Area:
Sightseeing, beach, food, shopping relaxing at the villa.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Positano. Down the stairs was a restaurant. Grocery, wine sho and cheese shop all just steps away.
Tips or Restaurants:
Renters should know they have to provide their own toiletries, soap, dish detergent, paper towels, toilet paper. Worth it to have these things delivered ahead.
Directions:
Directions were given when we got close by the property manager.

Overall:
Fantastic week in heavenly Positano.
Enjoyed Most:
It was very spread out and comfortable for my group of 11.
Enjoyed Least:
The stairs were a challenge for my 75 yr old mom.
Surrounding Area:
Having a home base to enjoy all that area has was wonderful. We loved going to Capri on the boat we chartered for the day. Also, we took a cooking class and that was a treat.
Tips or Restaurants:
Ate at our favorites - Casa e Bottega, Chez Black, Da Vincenzo, Da Gabrisa. All very good.

Overall:
Overall this villa is outstanding. Paola is the bomb! She provided outstanding guidance throughout the visit. We were there a week. The villa is 2 floors with a mother in law suite detached. We had 6 people, which included 1 couple so everyone had a room with a view. Upstairs is basically all bedrooms that share a big balcony with amazing views. Downstairs are living areas and the dining room. We didn't use the downstairs at all. Like never. The kitchen is on a mezzanine between floors. It was very large and had modern appliances. It also had the view. We washed clothes frequently so it was nice to have the machine. The villa is adjacent to a nice little restaurant/hotel. The villa is located up high on the hill, with a one way road winding all the way down to the Grand beach. We were traveling with 2 grandmothers, and they did fine walking up the stairs to the villa from the street. However, be warned. Use the bus or taxi back up from the beach. Its a hike straight up. There were plenty of cabs available at all hours. The bus was usually a wait. We ate at a different restaurant every night and most nights walked down the the restaurant and took a cab home. Shopping and food are all super close by. The villa is in an outstanding location. All of the bedrooms had wonderful glass french doors that opened to the view. We left them open most of the time except in the hottest part of the day. The air conditioners will only work if the doors are closed. They also had a unique shutter system so you could have the door closed and open the shutters. Pretty cool actually.
Enjoyed Most:
The view and spaciousness of the villa are superb. We sat outside every night and had drinks. You just can't get tired of seeing the beautiful ocean and mountains. And I have to say Paola. She was wonderful.
Enjoyed Least:
The downstairs. Living areas don't exist on the second floor, but who cares.
Surrounding Area:
Restaurants and shopping, along with a local market just steps away.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We did pop over to Sorrento for the day but it is a 30 minute car ride away. We also rented a beautiful boat for the day to tour Capri and see the Blue Grotto. I highly recommend that and Paolo can help (like she did for everything else we asked!)
Tips or Restaurants:
I highly recommend the boat tour. We were 6 people and rented the La Lucia. It stated it could hold 12. It can't! But 6 was perfect. It was only 1100 US for the entire day! Captained and all the wine we could drink. Amazing value. I would NOT rent a car, even though the villa has a garage. You can walk everywhere and taxi or bus. Bring lots of electrical adaptors. They are cheap and you can never have too many. Hair dryers were in the villa.
Directions:
Spot on directions.
Check In Out:
ALl extremely professionally handled by Paola and the staff at RentVillas.

Overall:
Our overall experience at Villa Cometa was excellent! The views are lovely, especially on the second level where the bedrooms are. There is great outdoor space for soaking up the sun, eating, and enjoying the weather and plenty of room for our toddler to stretch her legs. Beautiful flowers as well.
Enjoyed Most:
The bedrooms are great, very roomy with lovely views. And the outdoor space is ample for relaxing and enjoying the weather.
Enjoyed Least:
There is no powder room on the main level of the house. Our babysitter used the small bedroom on the main level with a bathroom, so we didn't feel comfortable using her bathroom which meant we had to go upstairs each time. Also, the steps up to the villa can be challenging after a long climb up from town/beach.
Surrounding Area:
We enjoyed the spectacular views, the Island of Capri and the Blue Grotto, the beach in Positano, the food and wonderful restaurants in town, the GELATO was terrific, the French bakery at the beach. It was fun renting a boat for a day and cruising up the shoreline.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Positano is the town which was within walking distance of Villa Cometa. Of course, you need to have strong legs and good knees to navigate all of the steps up and down to/from town.
Tips or Restaurants:
We liked having the Villa stocked with cheese, wine, snacks breakfast items before our arrival. This made is easy for us to relax after we unpacked. We enjoyed La Tres Sorrel restaurant at the beach and a coffee/breakfast place at the pier for French pastries and coffee.
Directions:
Best landmark to find the property is the hotel next door (Hotel Gabrisa?). That's what we used to direct our taxi with no problem. We were driven from Naples to Positano and back via a car service.
Check In Out:
Paula was excellent and we had a smooth transition in and out. We had a Pizza Party on our last night at the Villa. The chef was outstanding and he went all out to provide a fabulous evening and TONS of delicious pizza for us. At 550 Euros it was steep, but we all felt that given the amount of the effort and wonderful pizza, it was well-worth it.

Overall:
We were a group of 11 and enjoyed our breakfast and before dinner cocktails on the terrace.
Enjoyed Most:
The location was perfect.
Enjoyed Least:
The stairs were challenging but we got the hang of it and were in better shape by the end of the week!
Surrounding Area:
Many restaurants and shops easily accessible.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Positano and yes, we walked down to the center many times.
Directions:
We had a driver so we had no problem
Check In Out:
Definitely enlist the aid of a porter to help with the luggage checking in and out because of the stairs.

Rosanne, October

Overall:
Very pleasant because of the beautiful architecture and good weather that enabled us to be outside in the garden.
Enjoyed Most:
The view, the architecture.
Enjoyed Least:
All the steps.
Surrounding Area:
Gorgeous, scenic layout of the town.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We were in Positano. It was walkable for an able-bodied person. Lots of climbing involved.
Tips or Restaurants:
Too many good restaurants and shops to mention.
Directions:
We had a driver from the airport.
