Customer Reviews

Our group of 10 enjoyed our stay at this beautiful villa. It met or exceeded most of our overall expectations.
Enjoyed Most:
The quiet setting, the beautiful view and the outdoor spaces were fantastic. We felt like we really experienced the true Tuscan countryside away from the big city crowds and congestion. We were able to relax in the evenings in front of the outdoor fire pit with ample firewood provided.
Enjoyed Least:
The villa was a bit hard to find even using GPS. We got "lost" multiple times. Also, the one bedroom in the main house with the twin beds was not comfortable for an adult couple. The bathroom in this bedroom was also extremely small and didn't even have an electrical outlet. Weak WiFi signal.
Surrounding Area:
The surrounding towns were small but quaint. But the location of the villa allowed us to be equidistant to many of the larger towns we wanted to explore, including Florence, Lucca, Siena and Pisa.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Palaia and Colleoli were the nearest small towns. It was not possible to walk to these towns due to the winding narrow roads. A car is a definite necessity if you stay at this villa.
Tips or Restaurants:
We only ate in Palaia one evening at the Villa dal Borgo. Decent pizza and pasta in a casual setting.
Yes, we used GPS but it did not always work reliably.
Check In Out:
The process was very easy but this was because we had an Italian speaker in our group. Otherwise it would have been much more difficult as the caretakers (who wanted to be very helpful) spoke very little English.
