Customer Reviews

My husband and I along with our guests found the house and surrounding property to be perfect. The second kitchen allowed us to enjoy outdoor dining every evening, the pool and landscaping were lovely, the bedrooms and bathrooms were well designed, and having the laundry was a convenience we were specifically seeking. WiFi worked well, both kitchens were extremely well outfitted with anything we needed. It was charming architecturally, and offered numerous places to sit and relax either on one's own or as a group.
Enjoyed Most:
The location was ideal, on the northern end of Val d'Itria, consequently felt more remote and not in an area all built up. Having said this, it was easy to drive anywhere for short day trips, or in the case of Alberobello, in a few minutes. The cherry trees were full of fruit during our stay the last week of May... mmmmm. We harvested some every day.
Enjoyed Least:
Beds were kind of firm.
Surrounding Area:
We liked the feeling of remoteness, seeing mown hayfields, old Trulli farms scattered in the rolling hills, clusters of poppies and abundant wild flowers, picturesque towns to visit.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Alberobello was about 15 minutes drive away.
Tips or Restaurants:
Alberobello gets crowded with tourists so try going at non-peak times. Locorotondo isn't far, it's charming and worth a visit. Matera is a longer distance and should be on the itinerary, plan plenty of time for it. Everything closes in the afternoons so plan accordingly. When renting a car, go as small as practicable, the house is located on an extremely narrow country lane flanked by stone walls on both sides. Kind of scary driving until we got used to it.
