Customer Reviews

Enjoyed Most:
The building itself, the surroundings, and Tuscany in general.
Enjoyed Least:
We wonder if the price is too high.
Surrounding Area:
Views, hills, wines, architecture.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Florence, of course, with all its events.
Tips or Restaurants:
A car trip and dining in San Gimignano (beautiful, small town with several good restaurants).

Pawel, July

Overall:
This is a wonderful place, but our stay was marred by a corporate conference group which was given the run of the castle.
Enjoyed Most:
We loved the fact that it was a castle, a real castle.
Enjoyed Least:
We disliked being awakened by the corporate convention. Except for the convention mentioned above, it was idyllic.
Surrounding Area:
The castle is set in the rolling hills of Tuscany. We most enjoyed the fireflies twinkling in the vineyards just after dark, and the beautiful sunsets. The nearest town had a couple of good restaurants, small grocers, and gas.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Florence was easily accessible - the bus stops in front of the castle. All the Tuscan towns were within easy distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
The castle has good local restaurant references, and an absolutely super castle dinner a few nights a week (don't miss it). The castle sells its own wine and olive oil, and you can order bread for the mornings.

Kathleen, May

Overall:
The views were spectacular. Pool was nice. Restaurant/dinner at the castle was charming. Very convenient to Florence and lots of day trips.
Enjoyed Most:
The sunsets with a glass of wine overlooking the other Tuscan hills.
Enjoyed Least:
We should have been warned to bring mosquito netting. I hate sleeping with bug spray.
Surrounding Area:
Montespertoli is a charming little town. Excellent restaurants. The local wine is fabulous. We took trips to Vince, Pisa and San Gimignano. We liked San Gimignano the best (after Florence of course).
Nearby Events or Locales:
We wnt to Florence a few days. Many world famous sites.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring Mosquito netting. Drink the wine. Have dinner at the castle at least once! Visit San Gimigano-skip Pisa.
